Do you see me? I’m still here and I don’t know why. I used to live in a home, but one day, my owner had a medical emergency and my life changed forever.

I’m a sweet and loyal girl, I love people and peanut butter! I’m gentle and affectionate and I love quiet walks. All I want is to belong to someone again. I know my people are out there. Please share my story and help me find my new forever home. đŸ©·

Shania had a doggy day out today with our very own Kelly Houk! Thank you for giving Shania the best day out of the shelter on your day off today. đŸ©·

“Fun day out with sweet shelter dog Shania! It was her first time outside of the shelter since she came there and she did soooo good! She walked beautifully on the leash, was super friendly with everyone she met, and did great riding in the car!
We stopped by the library, walked around a local park, walked on the beach at Windmark and waded in the water, then went to McDonalds for chicken nuggets, and lastly Bluewater for a little air conditioned walk! Shania would make a great adventure buddy for someone, she would be a really good dog to hike with, camp with, or take out to places!! If you’re looking for an adventure buddy that will be your best friend for LIFE, Shania is your girl! She’s waiting for you and she’s up for adoption at St. Joseph Bay Humane Society”

Summer has been at ‘school’ for the past 6 weeks and didn’t even have to come back to the shelter before she found her forever family. We’re so happy for her!

We were also able to surprise her family with a no charge adoption thanks to a generous donation made by Cheryl Ploegstra. Thank you Cheryl!
