Did you know that hours before Jesus was taken to be killed, he celebrated Passover with his disciples? His "Last Supper" was, in fact, the very same meal that Moses and the Israelites partook of in the OT many years ago.
Tonight, as you remember Jesus and the crucifixion, think of him as the Passover Lamb. Embrace the Jewish Jesus and look at the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ in a new light. Ask the Father to show you Jesus, the Passover Lamb, born to show us The Way.

Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover lamb, His disciples said to Him, “Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?” And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him. Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.” (Mark 14:12-15 NKJV)

"I have found My servant David, the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who is willing to do all My will." Acts 13:22

11/05/2014

David the Worshipper after God's Heart-
David was called "a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22), a man willing to do all my will." According to David himself in Psalm 40:8 "I delight to do your WILL, oh my God, your law is in my heart." So according to YHWH and David's own mouth, he was faithfully obedient to all that God commanded, thus a man AFTER God's own heart.
I am reminded of a day when Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees in Mark 7 as He quotes from Isaiah 29:13: “These people honor me with their lips but their HEARTS ARE FAR FROM ME and in vain they worship me teaching as doctrines the traditions of men! For laying aside the commandment of God you hold to the traditions of men......All too well you reject the commandment of God that you may keep your traditions! ”
Do you see, “Their hearts being far from Him" and their "vain worship” is equivalent to “laying aside the commands of God and keeping the traditions of men”? This is very important because it says David was a man AFTER God’s own heart. The Pharisees hearts are far away and their worship is in vain. David’s heart is after (in, towards) God’s! Their worship is vain and their hearts are far away because they do not obey God’s commands rather they keep man's traditions. David’s heart is AFTER God’s, a true worshipper because he obeys God’s commands.
There are things that are blazingly evident about David’s life in scripture: He was a worshipper; he was intimate with God; he was a servant. But the one thing that stands out the most (Psalm 119) and that actually defines his intimacy, his worship and his servant-hood is that he was faithfully obedient to the commands of God.
So the question becomes is my worship in vain, or am I a true worshipper of YHWH?
