COMMUNITY ALERT / WARNING: BURN BAN NOW IN PLACE IN GULF AND BAY COUNTY
A county-wide BURN BAN. Here is the alert:
“A BURN BAN IS NOW IN PLACE IN BAY COUNTY, AND ANY OUTDOOR ACTIVITY THAT COULD CAUSE FIRES IS PROHIBITED, INCLUDING:
OPEN BURNING;
THE SALE OF - OR USE OF - FIREWORKS;
AND DEBRIS OR TRASH BURNING.
ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES MAY RESULT IN PENALTIES.”
As local meteorologists have been saying for the last several days, the 3 ingredients for WILDFIRES are currently in place for most of northwest Florida:
Drought conditions / low humidity / wind gusts
PLEASE do not do anything that will cause sparks outdoors. Conditions are ripe for wildfires to erupt without any warning.
SPRING BREAK vacationers, please pay attention to these precautions and burn bans, as they apply to you, as well. Help protect our beautiful home.
