Dogs can help reduce stress, boost our mood, keep us active, and just make us smile. And you don't have to have a dog of your own to enjoy some of those benefits. Volunteering at an animal shelter is a great way to spend time with a four-legged friend while giving back.

You do not have to be a parent to become a foster parent. Foster parents receive the training and support they need to prepare for the journey. You don't have to have all the answers or experience - you need a willingness to learn and provide a safe, supportive home for a child.

We’re excited to be a grant recipient of the Isle of Palms Connector Run once again!

This annual event does more than bring our community together for a great morning of running and walking. It helps raise awareness about child abuse prevention while providing important funding to organizations working to support children and strengthen families.

We are grateful to the Isle of Palms Exchange Club, the City of Isle of Palms, the Town of Mount Pleasant, and everyone who participates and helps make this event such a meaningful part of our community.

There is something special about seeing generosity come full circle.

A generous $1,000 purchase from Blackstone's Cafe helped Rain -N- Bagels give back to our community, and they chose to use a portion of those proceeds to purchase diapers and wipes for the children in our foster care program.

We are so grateful to Rain-N-Bagels for thinking of our foster children and for turning someone else's generosity into an opportunity to give back again.

Thank you to everyone who plays a part in making our community one where kindness keeps going. That is what community is all about!
