Grab your most comfortable pair of shoes, your sunglasses, your friends, family, neighbors, dogs, or come solo. The Port Orford Arts Council is kicking off the 2026 Second Saturday Series with “Summertime in the Village” – an all-day experiential extravaganza of the special pleasures of life in a wee village. It starts at 9am and ends when the last tavern closes. The weather is going to be spectacular!
As usual, the June Second Saturday will be anchored by an ART WALK (from 11am to 3pm) with a baker’s dozen participating venues offering everything from fine art, sculpture and master woodworking, to exceptional artisanal craftwork.
Start your adventure at Katie’s Summer Market (Hwy 101 at 9th, from 9am to noon) featuring locally made food, art, crafts, unique gifts and MORE!
As you continue your Village Stroll you can explore our incredible galleries, support our unique local shops, and discover our wonderful array of restaurants, bistros, cafes, delis, and taverns.
Go out to breakfast! Immerse yourself in ART ART ART at a few galleries, wander around our unique gift shops, bookstores and unique businesses. Go out to lunch. Check out more galleries and feel the rejuvenating effects of being in the presence of ART ART ART. Shop a bit more. Hang out a a tavern. Have dinner or go on an evening picnic.
Our little coastal village is already feeling the impact of rapidly rising costs of fuel and food and other necessities. There is serious concern that Port Orford will experience a summer with far fewer visitors. Our local small businesses make a large proportion of their annual income during our visitor season. For the rest of the time, local residents are crucial to the survival of our commercial life.
Please help us start this summer season in a BIG WAY by embracing our fantastic little village and all it has to offer. GO EVERYWHERE! ENJOY EVERYTHING!
