Buffington Park 😭

Yesterday afternoon we took our dogs to the park. Mine did not want to come out of the car ( she is scared ) so we sat at the picnic tables at the west end of the park. She was in the car with the hatch open while her dog friend Anna walked around on a 12 food leash. Within 30 min or so, the dog started to be unstable on her legs. A German Shepherd with a bad back. Nothing too alarming. Over night she got worse, this morning she could not stand up. We rushed her to Medford Emergency Vet. She tested positive for THC and Co**in.

It is not clear if she will pull thru.

If Doc Google is correct, co**in will show it's effect in dogs within 5 to 10 minutes, so she definitely got poisoned in the park.

So many families with kids or dogs want to enjoy the Park, but please be careful. Whatever that means, because Anna was close to us and we did not let her wander off or saw her eating anything.

This is breaking our hearts.

As some of you local folks know, I’ve been having some heavy medical issues these last 2 years. I’ve had to lighten my load & not do as much trapping & taming up kitties, but still am doing what I can. Even with lightening my load, was able to get 312 cats spayed/neutered (s/n) in 2025. This year, so far 79 s/n with another 23 on the books, plus whatever kittens this season brings. I, we, couldn’t do any of this if it weren’t for the generous support from the public. But there’s been a hiccup in our ability to raise funds.

From the health issues, I lost my 501 c 3 status, but am in the process of getting it reinstated & should hopefully have it reinstated in the next 6-8 weeks. Once that occurs, we should be able to start fund raising & get back to the volume of s/n that we normally do and the funds to do so.

I, and my small group of volunteers, thank each and everyone for their support over these last 10 years. We couldn’t do what we do without people like you and the support given to help us and the animals.

Just a few of our rescue kittens. All are kittens that we rescued from our feral cat projects. Since we got them so young, taming them up was a very quick process. A huge shout out to our fabulous fosters for doing such an incredible job on taming them up, providing lots of love & care❣️🐾🐈‍⬛😻🐈

Now accepting applications. You may stop by Happy Tails Pet Supplies to pick up an application. Adoption fee is $85. All of our kittens/cats are vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, FeLV/FIV negative & spayed/neutered (when old enough).

Wow, just wow. At least they were dumped where they’ll get the help & love that they deserve.

Just in time for Christmas, 3 little lumps of coal. These super social, sweet fur puffs are from one of our feral cat projects up Euchre Creek. They were born Oct 13 & have been bottle fed since 1 week of age. Our foster did such an AMAZING job bottle feeding & socializing these little lumps of coal 👏
One female, two males. Now accepting applications.
