Ever wonder what downtown Port Orange looked like in the 1930s?

This photo was taken at the corner of U.S. 1 and Dunlawton Avenue, where you can spot the Port Orange Hotel and A.T. Smith's Grocery Store (it would later become home to Count's Western Wear). Nearby businesses included Waldron's Sundries, Port Orange State Bank, Tedder's Meat Market, and the A&P Grocery Store, serving residents and visitors alike.
