On Mondays we always pray for our families and extended family. Lord, come close to us today. Only You know what we need, and when we need it. You are our strong Hope and deliverer, yes, our deliverer lives and will come with help for us. Be with those among us with gaping wounds of sorrow that no man or woman can heal. You only, can bring peace to that hurting heart.
Be with the sick among us and bring your healing power. Please cover each of our loved ones with your blood and protection. We can't change or heal them, only You can. We can't even change ourselves, but we can yield our lives to Your mighty hands. We need to be covered with Your comfort, O comfort Your people I pray this day and at the end of this day remind us to be grateful for all that You have done.

My deliverer lives that is one thing that I know. He will come to us in our sorrows, pain and illness. I also ask a special favor that you give each of us something to laugh about today, to take the edge off the pain of life. Let Your love-light shine bright through us and to our loved ones today in Jesus’ name I pray!
The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock;
And exalted be the God of my salvation!

I love part of this devo by Max Lucado: "We can't control how our family responds to us. When it comes to the behavior of others towards us, our hands are tied. We have to move beyond the naive expectation that if we do good, people will treat us right. The fact is, they may or they may not---we cannot control how people respond to us.

Let God give you what your family doesn't. If your earthly father doesn't affirm you, then let your heavenly Father take his place....and don't lose heart. God still changes families."

October came fast this year. I can’t believe we are here already.
But it’s another Thursday, another great day for Recovery Groups and small groups in the State of Florida. Remember there is strength in numbers.

On Recovery from the book, "The Life Model: Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You:"
"Recovery is facing and embracing all the pain in our lives, so that we will gain maximum growth: learning lessons, gaining power, and looking for ways to help others do the same. Those are goals of recovery, a destiny that is beyond what any person can achieve alone. It takes other people's loving involvement in order to develop our maturity, and it takes God's redemption to bring something good out of our pain. He is working on everything for our good--so that we have something extraordinary to give to others."
Praying for those at the beginning of a recovery walk, those halfway there and those in long-term recovery for strength, grace and power to take it a day at a time.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. The Message from Philippians 4
As we pray for families of prisoners we continue to hold up Carol Kent and her son, Jason. Lord, the road has been long. Please intervene, soon.

As I walk the road of Motherhood, I find it can be complicated, painful and wonderful all at the same time. (Something only a woman understands.)

"May all mothers be certain that their prayers do not fall from God's oblivion. Your tears move the heart of the Lord. For when a mother kneels down in prayer, a son rises. " - Saint Augustine

"Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds."
On Mondays we pray for our family and extended families. We ask Jesus that You more than repair every hurt, need and sickness within us. Remind us that You are a good God and so good to us in so many ways. Count your blessings today even amidst prayer needs.
Somebody's mother, child, or grandchild is hurting today and needs a touch of healing and kindness. Somebody's family has endured pain they never thought they would endure, gone further away than they ever thought they would go, thought thoughts of their family they never thought they would think and needs restoration. We find help through prayer and worship today.

Let’s live with no regrets on the day we pray for those grieving the loss of a loved one.

“Even if this season isn't going as planned, Lord
and if it's not at all what we hoped,
and if "we're* not yet quite what we hoped,
and if life's not unfolding to our Plan A
and if it's not even close to Plan B
and if the diagnosis is not great
and if the forecast is not good
and if not... and if not... and if not...
*You still are.* You still are Good & You still are God.
And we will be the people who will still...
The people who will still rest in it & sing it into the dark:

Special prayers today for those who are grieving a new loss and those still grieving the loss of their loved ones, although it wasn’t recent. We send love and prayers for strength for them to press on. We pray for strong arms of comfort to be wrapped around them from the Lord and their loved ones. We pray that they will have strength to take that next baby step towards the future, knowing that they will be reunited one day in the Lord.

"And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!" We’re praying especially for those newly single because of a death in the family.
Our prayer focus will be on those recovering from surgery or in the hospital. I’m praying for good results from the testing done on my daughter, Regina, today. For those who are sick or still in the hospital I pray for healing mercies and thank the Lord for His tender mercies new every morning. We ask also for the newly grieving to have comfort.

Praying for single parent families, too, for help, wisdom and provision.
Lord, we ask for Your tender mercies to surround us, Jesus.

On Mondays we pray for our family and extended families as our main focus. Many people in our families are hurting, emotionally, physically and financially. Lord, we ask that You be over all that concerns us and our loved ones. We ask for special favor, blessing, a touch from You, and to be held in Your great Father arms when we weep. Many people in our families are hurting, emotionally, physically and financially.
The new word for today is that He is ever for us and never against us. I pray His sweet mercies will cover you today and His healing for your heart will be complete.
The Lord knows our hearts towards those we love. He knows the unspoken heart cry. He knows the feelings of loss and helplessness as we yield what we can’t change or control into His great Father hands.
On Mondays some may want to join me in giving up one meal as a sacrifice to remind us of those we are praying for as we touch and agree for those we love.
Remember as Joel Osteen says the hard times in life are not done to us but for us.

On Saturday, when we pray for those who grieve, we ask for help, strength and comfort. We ask for those who grieve for loved ones to be able to just do the next best thing, take that next step and to press on. For those who grieve the death of a dream, or marriage we ask for help and hope to live. I’m thinking of those who have had a recent loss today, especially a dear sister/mom/wife. Lord, please wrap arms of comfort around those who grieve.

“There is no fear in letting tears come. Sadness is a gift to avoid the nothingness of numbness, and all hard places need water. Grief is a gift, and after a rain of tears, there is always more of you than before. Rain always brings growth.” Ann Voskamp

For me when there has been a recent death that affects someone I know personally, it seems a bit harder to post, because I know their pain and grieving will take time, much time. Jesus, lover of my soul, bind our wounds and make us whole. Praying for those whose loss is so new and tender especially. Also, those of us whose loss has been a while ago, yet we still feel the pain so deeply, ask for extra grace today.

Show us how to live, one day at a time, giving You glory. Your love never fails, though sometime our faith does. Help us to remember that the same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in us.
"In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you."

Jesus is not telling us that heaven has compartments or that we will have little places in which to live. In the ancient culture, a father's house was where the extended family lived. Rooms were often added on as the family grew through birth and marriage. What Jesus was doing was using the present day illustration of a loving, tight, family community. So, Christ is saying that He is preparing a place for us in heaven where we will dwell with God in close communion with Him and that there is room in heaven for all whom God calls to salvation. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God’s heart is set on them. Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world.” E.M. Bounds

“Your prayers, dear child of God…shall be answered---some of them perhaps, during your lifetime on earth, all of them, certainly, during your lifetime in heaven.” Samuel Prime

Today one of our prayer focuses is on those who are sick, in the hospital, facing surgery, or recovering. Those can be” big order” prayers, it seems. Sometimes we feel we are hitting the ceiling with our prayers, but we can’t give up. Lord, have mercy on our loved ones who are sick, or who have high blood pressure and elevated liver levels. I’m praying especially for a friend’s brother who needs a new liver. Lord, please provide everything needed for this surgery.

We also are praying for single parents and their children. Lord, please send all the help needed today and every day.
