What an incredible day aboard A.J. Meerwald! ⛵🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome Governor Christine Todd Whitman back aboard for a special sail celebrating New Jersey’s maritime heritage and America’s 250th. Governor Whitman officially designated the A.J. Meerwald as New Jersey’s Official Tall Ship in 1998, making her return aboard especially meaningful.

The day also helped shine a spotlight on our Keel Replacement Project and the work underway to preserve the Meerwald so she can continue sailing, educating, and representing New Jersey for generations to come.

We’re incredibly grateful to our partners, donors, supporters, crew, and everyone who joined us for this special day. Thank you for helping us celebrate the Meerwald’s history while investing in her future. ❤️

Start your Saturday on the water aboard New Jersey’s Official Tall Ship, A.J. Meerwald, with a special Morning Family Sail in Cape May!

Join us at 11:00 AM for All About Oysters with Conor O’Mara, Masters of Operational Oceanography (MOO) graduate student, and learn more about these incredible shellfish and their connection to our coastal environment while sailing aboard a historic tall ship.

This is a fun way for families to spend the morning together, get out on the water, and learn something new along the way. 🦪🌊
