Bryce Sandy represented Calhoun 4-H at the Texas 4-H Water Ambassador 4-H2O Leadership Academy Tour. He traveled through Texas to learn how water is collected, conveyed, treated, conserved, and managed to meet the need of our economy and citizenry.

Through this tour, Bryce had the opportunity to visit Meadows Center in San Marcos where he had the opportunity to do a Glass Bottom Boat Tour and then met with the San Marcos River Foundation. Day 3 they traveled to Austin where they toured the Texas Capitol and met with Surface and Groundwater Law, Texas Water Development Board, and Texas GLO. They then met with Prairielands Groundwater Conservation District. Day 4 they traveled to Springtown, where they met with Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District and a water well drilling operation, then with the North Texas Municipal Water District. Day 5 took them to Combine, Texas where they toured the John Bunker Sand Wetland Center and collected water for testing, as well as collected and identified macroinvertebrates.

Upon completing this academy, Bryce will now represent Calhoun 4-H as a Texas 4-H Water Ambassador. We are so proud of Bryce and cannot wait to see his accomplishments through this ambassador program!

4-H Record Books are a great way to keep track of annual 4-H projects. By recording their activities, members are able to remember all the fun they've had so far and set future goals. Keeping 4-H Record Books also helps when applying for college scholarships.

A job well done to all of our members who turned in a 4-H Record Book this year! All 1st place participants have the opportunity to compete at the District 11 4-H Record Book Contest in July!

What a FANTASTIC week for Calhoun 4-H members at the 2026 Texas 4-H Round Up!

On Wednesday, Brody O’Donnell attended a banquet for being a Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholar, then walked across the big stage at the evening assembly.

On Thursday, Beth Boone, Clay Brumfield, and Madden Guevara competed and gave their all in their respective contests, and we’d say it definitely paid off!

Beth and Clay received 2nd Place with their 4-H Skit out of a competitive group of 10 others from across the state.

Madden Guevara received 3rd Place with his Safety & Injury Prevention Educational Presentation out of a competitive 13 others from across the state.

Beth, Clay, and Madden also got to walk across the big stage at the assembly and were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.

Help us congratulate all 4 of these rockstar 4-H members on representing Calhoun 4-H so well!👏🏼🍀
