Tropical Update 4AM CDT: Potential Tropical Cyclone One is forecast to hug the Texas coast as the system moves northeast away from South Texas. It looks less likely to develop tropical characteristics but regardless of tropical formation, although less likely, the impacts would be short lived and below Tropical Storm criteria along our coast. Our messaging remains the same; isolated areas (northeast counties) of additional light rainfall through Wednesday, as this threat continues to decrease for South Texas.

The first tropical system of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season will be making landfall today either near or in our Crossroads counties. Read on for more important details.

Tropical Update 10AM CT: The National Hurricane Center has begun issuing advisories for Potential Tropical Cyclone One. PTC One is forecast to become a tropical storm as it moves along or just off the northwestern Gulf coast through Wednesday. Impacts would be short lived and below Tropical Storm criteria along our coast. Our messaging remains the same; periods of intense rainfall through the rest of today/tonight could produce widespread flooding. Gusty winds and coastal flooding are also likely.

Today, our team successfully catered to the Texas Water Safari participants despite weather-related challenges that necessitated adjustments to our plans. We are proud to be consistently selected for this honor, which supports our organizational mission. All vessels are anticipated to arrive by 1 p.m. tomorrow. We wish all remaining participants a safe journey.

Tropical Update 7PM CT: An area over the western Gulf hugging the TX coast has a 50% chance of tropical development within the next 48 hours. Regardless of tropical cyclone formation, our messaging remains the same; periods of intense rainfall over the next couple of days could produce widespread flooding. Gusty winds and coastal flooding are also possible.

Flood risk upgrade for Monday across South Texas! This is the 2nd highest possible flash flood risk. The flood risk extends across the Lonestar State and along the Gulf Coast States. The flood risk will continue much of the week of these areas. By the time the rain ends, over half a foot of rain will fall🌧️

Good morning! Are there any high school kids in need of volunteer hours? Our organization, Hunter Hadley's Quest, is cooking at the Water Safari check-in this Monday, the 15th, and I can sign off hours in Seadrift, TX. They can hand out tea and desserts and serve food. Private message me if interested.

Tropical Storm Cristina is poised to move into the southwestern Gulf of Mexico mid this week! At this point, Cristina will likely be just a remnant low. As the remnant low moves north in the western Gulf, it appears there could be a brief window - about 24-36 hours - for the low to become a Tropical Depression or low-end Tropical Storm before making landfall most likely somewhere between the Texas Coastal Band and Brownsville early this weekend. It’s a low-end chance for intensification but some guidance is now on board with this scenario. Regardless, increasing rain is likely from the RGV, into South Texas, coastal Texas and possibly southeastern and central Texas late week and this weekend🌀🌧️
