KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT! 🎤

The Port Huron Branch NAACP is proud to announce Ashley Lewis as our Keynote Speaker for the 2026 Freedom Fund Gala, taking place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at The Bank in downtown Port Huron!

Ashley is a dynamic leader, ordained minister, labor advocate, and community champion whose work embodies the power of collective action, service, and justice.

Currently serving as the Community Action Program (CAP) Coordinator for UAW Region 1, Ashley works to advance political advocacy, civic engagement, and community empowerment. She also serves as a liaison to the region's CAP, Women's, and Retiree Councils.

A proud graduate of the University of Michigan, Ashley is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity at Ecumenical Theological Seminary. She serves as an Assistant Minister at Fellowship Chapel UCC under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony.

Her commitment to uplifting others extends nationally through her role as National Recording Secretary of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). She is also a recipient of the prestigious Bill Lucy Award, recognizing her contributions to the labor movement and women's leadership.

As a mother of three, woman of faith, and dedicated community servant, Ashley represents the kind of courageous, purpose-driven leadership our communities need.

The Port Huron Branch NAACP is proud to announce Mayor Anita Ashford as the recipient of the 2026 Audrey Pack Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Audrey Pack Lifetime Achievement Award bestows special recognition upon the rare individual who has consistently and unselfishly given an extraordinary amount of time, leadership, and personal effort over many years toward the betterment of their community and fellow man.

This award carries the name and legacy of Audrey E. “Mas” Pack, a trailblazing public servant, civil rights advocate, and lifelong community activist.

Audrey made history as the first African American woman to serve on both the Port Huron City Council and the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners. Her decades of service also included leadership with the St. Clair County Department of Human Services Board, service as President of the Port Huron Branch NAACP, leadership within organized labor, and countless contributions to civic, faith, political, and community organizations.

Her life demonstrated what it means to lead with courage, sacrifice, service, and an unwavering commitment to community.

It is in that spirit that we honor Mayor Anita Ashford—a dedicated public servant whose years of leadership, advocacy, and commitment to the people of Port Huron embody the legacy this award was created to preserve.
