Hello, Veterans (and spouses)!
Do you need assistance with veteran's disability claims, benefits, housing needs, or employment? If so, VetConnect, a non-profit organization, is open every Wednesday for assistance and to help you navigate the system. Call or stop by the VFW on Wednesday, 10 am - 2 pm and we will assist you. Of course, you are always welcome to stop in for a cup of coffee.

COMMUNITY SALES EVENT / SWAP MEET
CALLING ALL VENDORS & SELLERS...

The VFW Post 7498 in Hadlock will host a community sales event on * AUGUST 17th * from 9am - 3pm (instead of July as originally intended). We will offer our facility as a place where individuals can sell their goods such as artwork, jewelry, craft items, plants, antiques, services, etc., the bigger the variety, the better. There will be roughly 20 indoor spots for rent ($10/table) and limited outdoor spaces ($15/10x10 space).

Our hope to continue hosting these sales events at least once a month depending on the need. If you are interested in participating, please email me at [email protected] for additional info or to register for a space. Thank you for your interest.

On behalf of the VFW Post, we thank those who participated in our community sales event this past week. We are excited to announce our next sales event scheduled for July 20th from 9-3pm. Keep an eye out for our flyers in the coming weeks.

Local Organizations Honor the Fallen - MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTE
The American Legion Marvin G. Shields Memorial Post 26, Bruce F. Matheson Post 7948, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Elks Lodge 317, Port Townsend will be conducting honor ceremonies at local cemeteries on Memorial Day. At each of four cemeteries organizations will lay floral tributes, post colors, and present a gun salute and TAPS. The public is welcome to come and pay their respects as we do to all veterans who are resting in local cemeteries.
The day will begin at 9 a.m. at the Fort Worden Military Cemetery, followed by Laurel Grove at 9:45, St. Mary’s at 10:15, and Chimacum at 11:00. (Times for Laurel Grove, St. Mary’s and Chimacum are approximate) Following these ceremonies, those interested are welcome to join us at the American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe Street, for a short concert by the Port Townsend Summer Band from 11:30 to 12:00, followed by a brief program. Finally, the groups will lay a floral tribute on the waters at Pope Marine Park, followed by a buffet sandwich and salad luncheon at the Legion Hall.
