Our volunteers are the heart of the Fairgrounds 💛 They bring passion, dedication, and a true spirit of community, helping create a space where people can gather, learn, and make lasting memories.

Meet one of the incredible people behind the scenes:

✨ Linda Noble
Role: Board of Directors: Treasurer; Fair Entries Superintendent & All-Around Fix-it Person 🔧

Why it matters:
“I wrote a song, sung to the tune of You Are My Sunshine, which I just learned to play on the ukulele.” 🎶

This is the Fairgrounds, the Jeffco Fairgrounds
It keeps me busy night and day
You’d never guess, folks, how much we’d miss it
If e’er the Fairgrounds went away.

The gutters all leak, the paint is peeling
The heat’s been busted since July
We’re underfunded and under-resourced
But here we are, we’re scraping by.

The other night, folks, as I lay sleeping,
I dreamt our tractor hadn’t died
When I awoke, folks, I was mistaken
So I scratched my head and sighed.

You are the Fairgrounds, the only Fairgrounds
You keep me laughing night and day
Unique and funky, rundown and clunky
Don’t ever take the Fairgrounds away. 💛

🍽️ Favorite fair food:
Veggie burgers 🥕🍔 and shaved ice ❄️

Because of volunteers like Linda, the Fairgrounds continues to grow, connect, and serve our community in meaningful ways 🌸

Laurie is an absolute rockstar 4-H Leader!

Meet one of the incredible people behind the scenes:

✨ Laurie Hampton
Role: I was the longtime Fairboard Secretary and have been involved with the Fair since 1993. I’ve served as the Cat Superintendent since 1995 🐱 and have also been part of the Community Garage Sale, Holiday Fair, and Expo since their beginnings. My role has been to help provide a safe, kind, and fun place for my cat 4-Hers—and all 4-Hers—to grow and qualify for the State 4-H Fair.

🌿 Why it matters:
“The fairgrounds, which has been in this location since 1911 (I think!), has been a gathering place for the entire county. It’s where you see people you don’t see the rest of the year—but you do see them at Fair! It’s also the place to come and see the amazing work and talents of our community, and to learn and share. And as ‘just’ grounds, they represent tradition, passion, hard work, determination, as well as gathering—whether outside or in a building.”

🍽️ Favorite fair food:
#1 Whatever is being served at the 4-H Concession Stand by the arena
#2 Coffee ☕
#3 Anything I can eat while walking back to my building

Because of volunteers like Laurie, the Fairgrounds continues to grow, connect, and serve our community in meaningful ways 🌸

Even though Jefferson County doesn't have a Tractor Supply - our friends and neighbors in Kitsap and Clallam share with us. If you will be visiting make sure to let them know you support 4-H!

We love to see Teens get leadership opportunities! Have so much fun!

🌟 Better Together Youth Leadership Summit x Unite! Washougal 🌟

A first of its kinda at the Jefferson Teen Center starts tomorrow!

We’re bringing together teens from across our region for a cozy, empowering, joy‑filled spring break experience and it’s all free thanks to the support of the Washington State Department of Health’s cannabis and to***co prevention funding.

Focusing on the One Health understanding of Prevention Sciences. Here’s what we’re packing into this unforgettable weekend:
✨ Youth leadership workshops
✨ Dance party + beach BBQ
✨ Mindfulness + yoga sessions
✨ Nutritious meals
✨ Tide pooling + art activities
✨ A fully stocked Teen Free Store so every young person feels safe, warm, and supported

We couldn’t be more excited to help our teens connect, recharge, and grow into the leaders their communities need.

We still have a few spots left. Want to send your teen? Shoot us a DM. If we fill up, stay tuned for next year’s camp because we’re just getting started.
