Statement from the Office of the Ulster County Comptroller re: UCAT Investigation

The Ulster County Comptroller’s Office has received multiple credible allegations of the falsification of time records by management at the Ulster County Area Transit Department. The actions taken by the Comptroller were within the scope of our independent investigative and audit authority. The County already operates 10 cameras at the UCAT building on a 24-hour basis. It’s unfortunate that this ongoing investigation has now been disclosed publicly. We urge any members of the community with additional information to contact the Comptroller’s Office.

"A new report on New York’s healthcare workforce says the state still doesn’t have enough primary care providers, especially in upstate regions, leaving millions of residents with fewer options for routine care and longer waits for appointments.

The report, from the University at Albany’s Center for Health Workforce Studies, finds persistent gaps in primary care across much of New York. Program manager Nafin Harun said nearly 5 million people live in federally designated primary care shortage areas."
