I have begun experimenting with a phenomenon known as lucid dreaming. Now I know what you’re thinking and no I’m not taking any illicit drugs here, merely a dietary supplement. I did a little research on a product called Dream Leaf, maybe you've heard of it? It's an interesting blend of +Mugwort, +5-HTP, *Huperzine-A, *Alpha GPC, and *Choline. The two pills, one red (+) and one blue (*), are taken four hours apart (more detailed information is available through the link below). Over the next several weeks, I will be posting my findings and experiences with the product.
So far I have used Dream Leaf three times, with only minimal success. The one time that I did achieve success, however, was very memorable. At times, I was unsure as to whether or not I was asleep at all. I had taken the blue pill, with no great expectations after the first two unsuccessful attempts, and lay in bed staring at the ceiling. I had remembered reading something in my research about being well hydrated, to increase the chances of a successful lucid dreaming session, so I had made sure to drink more water than normal that day. As I felt myself drift off to sleep, my mind seemed to pause a bit and hang back while my body continued on into slumber. I was aware of my surroundings and experienced a full body tingling sensation. After a few minutes of this, I began to get excited about finally achieving a lucid state. I found that I could control my experience. I was, consciously, guiding and manipulating my dream, with intent. It was almost as if I were in a drunken state, complete with giggles and lightheadedness. I felt as though I were floating, ever so slightly, over my covers with the ability to control how high I floated and even slightly shift my body in any direction. I’m sure that my face was adorned with a grin from ear to ear at this point.
Unfortunately, before I knew it, my alarm went off and it was time to take the red pill. Now, I had really high hopes this time around. This little gem is supposed to promote the lucid dreaming effect and support dream recall and control. But, for me, it didn’t seem to accomplish any of that. I was out like a light after taking the red pill and wasn’t able to recall anything after I took it. It is very possible that I was not hydrated enough for the pills to take full effect. I am hoping to try again this weekend, after absorbing a sufficient amount of water, and will post any new findings here. If anyone else has tried this product, I’d love to hear about your experiences. Please feel free to share them here.
