Hey Neighbor!

The crows are gathering again! 🐦‍⬛🍂

We had so much fun at our first Crow Party that we're bringing it back with a little autumn magic.

Join us Friday, October 16 at 6:30 PM for our Autumn Crow Party Trinket Swap!

Bring up to five small treasures you're ready to pass along. Think charms, keychains, tiny figurines, or other quirky little finds.

For each trinket you bring, you'll get a ticket to choose a new treasure from the Crow's Nest. We'll take turns so everyone gets a chance to find something special.

Dress in black or something crow-inspired, enjoy light refreshments, and spend a little time with neighbors.

Hey Neighbor!

We're heading to the **Perryville Library's Fall Fest** this morning, and we've got a little fun planned for the kiddos!

Thanks to the generosity of the **Reisler family of Richland Farm**, we'll have a corn and bean pool where kids can dig around for hidden treasure and earn a book sticker as their prize! 🌽📚

Richland Farm is a sixth-generation family farm in Rising Sun, and we're grateful to have neighbors like the Reislers who are willing to help make community events a little more special.

Stop by and say hello to **Danielle and Erica** and enjoy all the fun our friends at Cecil County Public Library have planned!

Put down the phone and pick up some yarn. 🧶

Knit Don’t Quit meets this Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 PM, and knitters and crocheters are both welcome!

Bring whatever you’re working on and spend the evening stitching, chatting, and enjoying some time with neighbors. Want to learn to knit? We’ll have someone there who can help get you started. Crocheters are absolutely welcome too, just know we won’t have a crochet instructor available.

Come with a project, come to learn, or just come for the company.

Our friends at the Cecil County Public Library are bringing the Bookmobile to Port Deposit, and Librarian Angelica will be joining us for stories, movement, and some morning fun.

Hey Neighbor!

Our Book Club Therapy with Bodhi Counseling is currently reading The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday, and per usual, we’re taking our time.

Rather than rushing through the whole book, we read one section at a time, giving us space to really talk about the ideas, how they show up in our own lives, and what we can learn from one another.

And here’s the best part: you don’t need to be caught up to join us. Even if you haven’t started the book, we think you’ll get something from the conversation.

We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 12:30 PM at CCU.

A new week is a good time to stretch, breathe, and make a little space for yourself.

Join Nora Tuesday at 11 AM or Becki Wednesday at 7 PM for gentle yoga at CCU. Classes are welcoming to all levels and, as always, Pay What You Want.

One little favor: please RSVP at least 12 hours before class. Knowing who is coming helps our instructors plan and lets us confirm there are enough neighbors joining us to hold class.

Hey Neighbor!

October has arrived, and there’s something about this time of year that makes gathering together feel especially good.

This month at CCU, you can move your body with yoga, sew or knit with neighbors, gather around a good book, create with Ashley, browse the shelves at Once Upon a Tome, or find some encouragement from neighbors walking a similar weight loss journey.

And because we like a little quirky with our community, the crows are coming back! Our Autumn Crow Party Trinket Swap returns October 16. 🐦‍⬛

There are lots of reasons to walk through our doors this month. Find one that sounds like you and come join us. Please RSVP so we know you’re coming and watch our stories for cancellations.

We truly are the luckiest to call this tiny river town our home and one another neighbors!

Hey Neighbor!

What a wonderful evening celebrating local talent and the beautiful eagles that call Cecil County home!

Danielle and Bill Barron, Randa Thiele, and Brian and I joined Joe Piner, Ray Jefferson, and Mike Ingram for the premiere of River of Wings.

The cinematography was beautiful, and we learned so much about these incredible birds and the place they hold in our local and national heritage.

There’s something special about seeing our own community through the eyes of local filmmakers. We are grateful for the time, talent, and care that went into telling this story, and we were happy to be there to celebrate their work.

Missed the premiere? There’s an encore showing on October 27 at the North East Public Library. Be sure to register early because seats fill up fast!

Beautiful birds, talented neighbors, and another reason to appreciate this place we call home. 🦅💙
