Get ready to stomp your boots and raise a mug because Wakefire is bringing their high-energy Celtic sound to the Port Clinton Pirate Fest!

Formed in 2017 in a small Detroit pub, this six-piece band blends traditional Celtic roots with modern rock to create a sound that’s bold, lively, and unforgettable. Drawing from their diverse musical backgrounds, they mix beloved traditional favorites with powerful original songs that tell stories meant to move both the heart and the feet.

With driving rhythms, rich harmonies, and the spirit of the old world turned up to eleven, Wakefire delivers a performance that’s equal parts pub celebration and pirate adventure.

🎭 Entertainment Spotlight – Captain Jack Scallywag! 🏴‍☠️

Meet Captain Jack Scallywag, bringing laughter, balloons, and a healthy dose of shenanigans to the Port Clinton Pirate Fest!

Raised among the ocean’s more questionable citizens - smugglers, fortune-tellers, and that one guy who speaks fluent squid - young Jack grew up fluent in fibs, jigs, and the fine art of escape. He navigates by moonlight, argues with stars, and has forgotten the location of more treasure than most pirates ever dream of… mostly because he writes maps on whatever’s closest. Sandwich wrappers, mostly.

But what makes Jack truly legendary isn’t just his knack for nonsense or the way he somehow owes everyone and no one at the same time. It’s the loyalty he shows to his crew, the sort o’ captain who’d share the last coconut, laugh in the face of doom, and then accidentally sit on the map home. He’s the chaos and the compass, the mischief and the melody.

A scamp? Definitely. A menace? Somewhat. A myth?
Probably not, though he does insist he once arm-wrestled the moon. And won. Wherever he finds himself, Captain Jack Scallywag brings a whirlwind of silliness with him.

A new message in a bottle has been found! Mcalpine Meadery will be joining Port Clinton Pirate Fest. They will be serving their delicious honey wine at the ShipWreck Tavern. Located at the heart of the festival itself right by the ShipWreck stage.

The meadery is an Ohio owned and operated out of Beach City. Since 2013 they have been serving their delicious mead. And they are the 35th recorded meadery in the US. What is Mead you ask!? It is a European style honey mead 12% alcohol APV. Great addition to any pirate or adventurer’s stein!

One of our favorites is the elderberry and blueberry flavors! If you want to try some before the fest no problem! Follow the links to find info on locations and where it’s sold. And they also have online ordering.

We can’t wait to toast a stein or horn with you all this summer!
