FRIDAY UPDATE
Let's START with Doggie Updates....
BIG JAKE is over his Upper respiratory Infection and is feeling MUCH better.. THANK GOODNESS..
CINDY was seen by a Vet yesterday because she started a cough..They detected a small amount of Pneumonia .. She is now on different antibiotics, anti-nausea meds, stomach soothing meds & an appetite stimulant.. Seems this little gal feels so lousy she doesn't want to eat.. We have been trying every trick in the book.. We finally got her to eat about 3/4 of her breakfast..A STEP in the right direction.. :)
FRED has a heart murmur and his coughing has increased.. We are keeping a VERY close eye on him.
WENDY.. has VASTLY improved she has perked up .. Although her blood work did not come back great when she was sick.. We are repeating her blood work on Monday because the Vet feels this very well MIGHT be food related or let's say LACK OF.. She was in pretty rough shape when she arrived here.. She is still being treated for her skin issues but even that is looking MUCH better and BOY - OH - BOY does she ever LOVE her fall sweaters !! :)
ROSEMARY our resident Great Dane had a Vet appointment this morning.. She was very well behaved and the Vet staff loved her.. ROSEMARY is doing great .. sutures are all out from her recent paw/toe huge skin tag removal.. ROSEMARY checked out excellent, except she still needs to gain more weight.. She is being fed 3 times a day with PLENTY enough calories so that should improve within the next few weeks...And 2nd Vet opinion... SHE IS SPAYED !! We were worried about that. but two separate Veterinarians STRONGLY feel that IS a spay scar... Yaaa Hoooo!!
CHIPPY & MUGGINS have dental surgery scheduled next week plus CHIPPY will have a BIG water cyst removed from his neck.
ALL OTHER DOGGIES are status quo and doing just fine..
THE SANCTUARY ?? Well, same old story .. Donations are almost non-existent, and we STILL HAVE LIMITED STAFF.. Seems no-one wants to work even for a few hours.. All of my rescue friends are having the same issue.. VOLUNTEER availability this time of year is WAAAY DOWN especially next week.
Volunteer KARA got some awesome Halloween Pictures of our doggies and I will be posting those NEXT WEEK.
Volunteer MEG came in this morning for a few hours to help.
Volunteer MICHELLE came in later this afternoon and will work until the end of night shift .. THANK GOODNESS FOR HER !!
So, as it looks now SHANNON will be back up to working 80 + hours next week :(..
I had to have a CT scan done today of my chest.. Waiting on the results of that.. I will let you know.. I AM getting "up-there" in years so nothing would shock me or you .. LOL..
LAST BUT NOT LEAST !!! SATURDAY is the LAST day to buy TICKETS for that awesome Halloween wreath.. DRAWING is at NOON on Saturday so better get busy with that.. 1 ticket $10.00 - 3 tickets $25.00.. So, that's about IT for now !! SEND POSITIVES VIBES & PRAYERS to us ( doggies & Humans ) PLEASE as we struggle on. The phones ring off the hook from Pounds, Dog Wardens & Kennels needing us to take in doggies and we simply CAN'T without more HUMAN help.. It is SAD ! It makes US sad..Hard to have to say "I'm sorry - We Can't" AND more & more people wanting us to take their dogs because they cannot afford them or they are senior dogs.. Maddening." I'm sorry - We Can't".. Who suffers?? The Dogs.. :(
