We are so grateful to have wonderful people that not only help with our repair projects, but bring a huge sense of community with them. 💙

Dallas Harris of General Residential Services consistently goes above and beyond. We want to highlight all of the wonderful moments he has shared with homeowners while working on projects for our Critical Home Repair Program.

💙 Thankful Thursday 💙

This week, we're thankful for our friends at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and the many ways they continue to support Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County.

St. John's has been a wonderful partner in our mission. Their congregation supports Habitat through financial gifts, proceeds from their annual garage sale, volunteer service, and so many other acts of generosity throughout the year.

Their connection to Habitat also includes their pastor, Pastor Becky Bolander, who generously gives her time and leadership as President of our Board of Directors.

What means so much to us is that their support isn't just one event or one donation. St. John's continually finds ways to stand behind our mission and help us serve families throughout Ottawa County.

We're incredibly grateful for their generosity, their volunteers, and their continued partnership. Thank you to the entire St. John's congregation for being such wonderful friends of Habitat! 💙🏠

Today is World Habitat Day, so let's open the door to safe and affordable housing in Ottawa County! 🚪💙

🏡 We have a deep and rich history in advocating for fair housing to celebrate. As an international organization, Habitat for Humanity has helped people build or improve places to call home for more than 50 years, and we are grateful to have been able to contribute to this mission in Ottawa County for over 30 years. Over this time, we helped more than 50 of our neighbors through new home construction and critical home repairs.

When we see these statements we are reminded of the impact these houses make for our neighbor's day to day lives in Ottawa County, and we're humbled to be part of this incredible journey alongside amazing families. 💙🏡

💙 Thankful Thursday 💙

This week, we're thankful for our friends at Ecotone Paint by American Paint Recyclers!

American Paint Recyclers is an Ohio-based company that gives leftover latex paint a new life by recycling it into EcoTone Paint. We love that their mission of reuse and keeping usable materials out of the waste stream fits so naturally with what we do every day at our ReStore. ♻️🎨

EcoTone is also the paint we proudly carry and sell at our ReStore, but their partnership with Habitat goes far beyond that. They have generously donated the paint used throughout our ReStore building and continue to donate the paint we need for our Habitat home builds.

When you're painting an entire house, that adds up quickly, and their generosity makes a real difference in helping us keep the cost of building affordable homes as low as possible.

We're incredibly grateful to have another Ohio company partnering with us to build homes, strengthen our community, and give materials a second life.

💙 Thankful Thursday 💙

This week, we are thankful for St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, Ohio and their creative “Bakeless Bake Sale!”

The idea was simple: instead of baking goodies and then buying them, members of the church could skip the baking altogether and make a donation to Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County instead. 🧁🏠

And what an amazing response! Together, St. Joseph Church and its members raised $4,482 for Habitat!

Their generosity comes at an especially exciting time for us. Just last week, we set three new Habitat homes in Port Clinton, and support like this helps us continue building safe, affordable homes for families right here in our community.

Thank you to St. Joseph Church and everyone who participated in the Bakeless Bake Sale. We are so grateful that you chose to support Habitat and the families we serve! 💙
