OCCF is honored to help bring the arts to local seniors through a grant to the Musical Arts Series/Port Clinton, supporting performances by the High Frequency Flute Quartet at Genoa Retirement Village and Elmore Retirement Village on June 12. These special concerts create opportunities for community, enrichment, and the shared enjoyment of live music.

Learn more about these upcoming performances in the Musical Arts Series post below and join us in supporting programs that make Ottawa County a vibrant place to live, learn, and thrive: www.OttawaCCF.org

On Friday, June 12th, the High Frequency Flute Quartet will be in our area for two Senior Concerts, sponsored by a generous grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation. A highly talented ensemble founded by Tamara Kagy, this flute quartet is comprised of members of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, who explore the standard and virtuoso flute repertoire that is so rich in giving voice to the flute.

The members of the quartet own and perform on all the voices of the flute, giving the ensemble a rich texture and multifaceted color. The musicians performing are Tamara Kagy, Jody Chaffee, Elizabeth Studer, and Zoe Stier.

At 1:00 PM, the High Frequency Flute Quartet will perform at Genoa Retirement Village, 200 Cherry Street in Genoa. At 3:00 PM they will give a program at Elmore Retirement Village, 633 State Street in Elmore Ohio.

Just before the school year came to a close, Port Clinton City School District's 8th grade students had the opportunity to travel to Kelleys Island for a day of hands-on learning and exploration.

OCCF was pleased to be able to help support this experience, where students not only explored the island, but also studied the famous glacial grooves, and visited Inscription Rock...all bringing science and local history to life in a real way.
