Behind every organized shelf, packed wardrobe, and carefully folded piece of clothing is a community showing up for children who deserve dignity, confidence, and care.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and supporter helping make that possible 💙

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at The Sharing Shelf!

Today we celebrate the incredible moms in our community. Your strength and resilience remind us every day why this work matters.

And to our generous donors and volunteers who make it all possible: thank you. You show up, and because of you, so can we. 💗

There was something really special about Sip & Thrift 2026…

Maybe it was seeing people come together so naturally.

Maybe it was the volunteers giving their time without hesitation.

Maybe it was the incredibly generous amount of donated clothing and everyday essentials that accompanied the evening-a night filled with connection, purpose and community.

What started as a night of thrifting became something much bigger. A reminder of what can happen when people show up for one another in a meaningful way.

Together, we raised over $20,000 to support our mission to combat clothing insecurity, and our shoppers donated more than 5,200 period products to help kick off our May Period Poverty Drive.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended and helped make this sold out evening possible. We are so incredibly grateful.

We are incredibly grateful to Westchester DA Cacace for choosing to support The Sharing Shelf through the Pinwheel Garden fundraiser in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. .ny

Because of this meaningful effort, $2,901 was raised to help combat clothing insecurity in Westchester, along with 15 large bags of new and gently used clothing.

This kind of impact goes far beyond numbers, it directly supports children and families in our community who need it most.

Thank you for your leadership, your advocacy, and your commitment to ensuring that every child feels supported and cared for.

As you stated so perfectly: “No child in Westchester is secure until all children in Westchester are secure.”

Every single day, our volunteers show up.

They sort, pack, carry, organize, check, re-check and care so that every child feels seen, valued, and ready for the days ahead.

They are the heartbeat of The Sharing Shelf.

From the floors of our space to donation drop-offs to the work being done far beyond our doors, they are always there.

Whether they are longtime regulars, first-timers, our incredible vocational partners, or families who make giving back a team effort, this is our thank you.

Thank you for your time.
Thank you for your energy.
Thank you for your hearts.
Thank you for believing in this mission.

National Volunteer Day and Volunteer Month are not just marked on a calendar here. At The Sharing Shelf, they live in every single moment💛

We have so much gratitude for the school communities that give back and volunteer for The Sharing Shelf, reminding us daily that everything we do truly matters 🤍

This month’s school shoutout goes to Wampus Elementary and the Byram PTSA in Armonk-a group that shows up, steps up, and truly understands the challenges we are facing.

From clothing and pajama drives, to collecting 149 pairs of sneakers in just one month, this is what impact looks like when students, teachers, and parents come together with purpose.

It’s not just donations… it’s dignity, confidence, and care being passed along to other children who need it most.

So grateful for partnerships like this and the example they’re setting for the next generation✨

We pick up every week all over Westchester!🚌⬇️

Warm weather is coming and for so many kids that means everyday life without the basics they deserve. Clothing insecurity is real, and it is something we can actually do something about.

One bag. One donation. One simple act that can change how a child feels walking into a room.

The Sharing Shelf makes it easy. We come directly to you.

If you’ve been meaning to clean out closets, this is your moment to do it with purpose.

Sign up for the next pick and turn what you no longer need into something that means everything to someone else.

Meet our April Volunteer of the Month, Lisa Blau!

Lisa has been showing up for The Sharing Shelf since 2016 and her dedication speaks for itself. As a volunteer in Teen Boutique, she has seen firsthand the confidence a new outfit can bring to a young person-and that keeps her coming back.

What moves her most is supporting children and teens in crisis, including packing clothing for kids who have had to leave home suddenly under the most heartbreaking circumstances.

We are so grateful for Lisa’s heart, her warmth, and that contagious smile. Thank you for nearly a decade of service, Lisa!
