🎙️ NEW PODCAST EPISODE | Corrections Unfiltered

Human trafficking does not stop at the prison gate, and correctional professionals are often uniquely positioned to identify patterns of victimization, grooming, coercion, recruitment, and organized exploitation that might otherwise go unnoticed.

In this episode of Corrections Unfiltered, Jarrod Sadulski, Ali Hopper, Pete Bludworth, Alishia McColl, and Niki Springer discuss:

▪️ How trafficking intersects with correctional environments
▪️ Grooming, coercion, and exploitation patterns
▪️ Challenges staff face in identifying indicators
▪️ The importance of awareness, education, and training
▪️ Why intelligence-driven approaches matter for both victim protection and offender accountability

Through the collective knowledge and experience shared in this conversation, we hope to continue strengthening awareness, collaboration, and practical solutions surrounding trafficking and exploitation within correctional settings.

We’re grateful to stand side by side with professionals who are committed to addressing these issues and creating meaningful impact.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 18-year-old Mason Hull, an influencer known online as “Hullo,” on May 6, 2026.

According to SCSO, Hull was charged with 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material after detectives reviewed evidence from his mobile phone.

It is critical to understand:
▪️Popularity is not proof of safety.
A large following is not a character reference. Predators can hide behind normal-looking accounts.

▪️Exploitation can hide behind links and file-sharing.
What looks like ordinary online activity can be used to access, trade, or distribute abusive material.

▪️Prevention starts with awareness.
Parents and communities need to know the warning signs, ask better questions, and report concerns early.

GUARD exists to help communities recognize grooming, exploitation, and trafficking before another child is harmed.

Thank you to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office and the investigators working to protect children and hold offenders accountable.

Some stories should make all of us ask hard questions.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Walvin Victor Hugo Garcia, a Guatemalan national in Virginia who had been charged with serious crimes involving a child under 13.

Key facts:
▪️Entered the U.S. illegally in 2023
▪️Had already been ordered removed
▪️ICE asked local officials to hold him
▪️DHS says he was released without ICE being notified

This is about protecting families and enforcing the law.

When courts, local officials, and federal agencies fail to communicate, communities pay the price.

Secure borders matter.
Court orders matter.
Protecting children matters.

A child was trafficked.
By someone in a position of trust.

This week in Marion County, a jury found a Florida man guilty of human trafficking of a child, sexual battery, and multiple additional charges. He has now been sentenced to life in prison.

Justice was served.

According to testimony, the victim was offered money and rewards - conditioned to comply, exploited through trust, and silenced through coercion. This is what trafficking often looks like. Psychological control, incentives, and power.

This is why prevention matters.

Because traffickers don’t just operate online or overseas.
They exploit access. They exploit relationships. They exploit vulnerability.

At GUARD, we focus on exposing these patterns before they escalate - through research, education, and intelligence that helps communities, parents, and law enforcement recognize the signs earlier.

One child spoke up.
That courage led to accountability.

If you’re a parent, educator, or community leader - learn the signs. Have the conversations. Stay aware of who has access to your children and how influence is being built.

Because prevention is the only way we stop this before it starts.
