Our bargaining team met with members this week to kick off this year's negotiations. The board was introduced, key bargaining items were laid out, and we broke down what SB 1296 means for our members. Stay informed. Stay united. Your team is at the table fighting for you. Have a great weekend everyone!

All three of these school types are funded by taxpayers—yet each operates under a different set of rules.

If the funding comes from the same taxpayers, shouldn’t the expectations be consistent, too?

No matter where a child goes to school, there should be a uniform set of standards, transparency, and protections to ensure students are getting the education they deserve.

On May 1st, Governor DeSantis signed SB 1296, legislation backed by out-of-state money with one goal: to dismantle unions across Florida.

We've seen this playbook before. They want us discouraged. They want us quiet. They want us to walk away.

We're not walking away.

The answer to this moment isn't a smaller union. It's a bigger one. More members. More power. A voice they can't ignore.

Know someone who works alongside you and isn't yet a member? That conversation starts today. We're all in this together.

Your CCSPA President, Heather Lee , and Para Director, Susan Redman, are hard at work getting us re-certified! 💪

All 421+ Show of Interest cards are being alphabetized to be on their way to Tallahassee for PERC.

This represents hours of work—done after hours—to make sure our union stays strong and continues to be here for all of you.
We’re committed, and we’re not going anywhere. ✊

🚨 Bargaining Update 🚨
We met today expecting to discuss salaries and the budget—but the state has yet to do the one job it was sent to do: pass a budget.

Current proposals mean less funding for salaries while health insurance costs keep rising.

We’re facing tough choices:
➡️ Increase salaries → possible changes to health insurance
➡️ Protect health insurance → little to no salary increase

👉 We need your input. A survey is coming soon—please take it.

⚠️ Membership is critical.
If we don’t reach 60%, we risk losing our union and our contract—meaning no voice at the table.

💪 Stand with us. Talk to your coworkers.

👉 Tell your coworkers to join—this work depends on you.

We’ll be back at the table as soon as the budget is finalized.

We're excited to begin bargaining on behalf of our support staff tomorrow morning!

We will be meeting jointly with the teacher's union and focusing on the most requested items based on the survey we sent out earlier this year.

Thank you to everyone who responded - we look forward to delivering!

Couldn't have said it better ourselves

MUST WATCH: This story says the quiet part out loud—SB 1296 is meant to hurt hardworking Floridians.

The billionaire-backed Freedom Foundation even took credit for writing the harmful bill in an interview with CBS News.

With the support of Gov. Ron DeSantis, they’re trying to rewrite the rules and silence the voices of educators and public workers across Florida.

As many of you may know, SB1296 just passed the Florida Senate and will soon move to the House. It is part of a years-long, billionaire-backed effort to destroy unions, specifically any that didn't support Governor Ron DeSantis. Those who did earned a convenient exemption in this bill. Good for them.

SB1296 is a continuation of SB256 - their last attempt to destroy unions by forcing annual decertification votes. It largely failed because when people have a choice, they continually vote to support their unions. So now they're re-writing the rules again with SB1296 - a law that essentially turns non-votes into votes against the Union.

This is unprecedented and undemocratic. By the same rules, Governor DeSantis would have miserably lost his own election campaign. This is just blatant corruption aimed at some of the few protections still afforded to hard working Floridians. It's really that simple.

If you or someone you care about may be impacted by these, or you just don't like billionaires and corrupt politicians hurting hard-working Floridians, please like and share this to help get the word out.

We encourage everyone to take 2 minutes to contact your House members to let them know how you feel about this - https://flhouse.gov/representatives
