We work to improve the quality of life in Charlotte County Florida through these programs: Great American Cleanup, International Coastal Cleanup, Adopt A Road, Adopt A Shore, Cigarette Litter Prevention Program, Pepsico "Dream Machine" Recycling Program, America Recycles Day, beautification, education and the Student Calendar Art Contest.

This year we were over the moon excited to honor 3 graduating high school seniors with the Keep Charlotte Beautiful Environmental Volunteerism Award! At Port Charlotte High School Senior Awards, we were able to present to Mia Cabrera and Hannah Dickinson. On Charlotte High Schools Award's night, we presented to Sameen Qureshi. Thank you, ladies, for your involvement with Keep Charlotte Beautiful over the years and supporting our mission. Congratulations to all of you and good luck in this new step in your lives!

The purpose of the Keep Charlotte Beautiful Scholarship Program is to recognize and celebrate graduating high school seniors who embody our vision: to inspire and educate people to take action every day to improve and beautify Charlotte County and beyond.

Eligibility:
Be an active KCB participant.
Be a high school senior with plans to attend college or a post-secondary school.

Want to participate in an project? Friday morning at 8:00 am is your chance! Punta Gorda Garden Club Inc and Keep Charlotte Beautiful Florida are partnering on a project to beautify the 2 Blue Star Memorials in Punta Gorda! Come join us to help prep and plant a red, white, and blue garden.
Wear close toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Refills will be available!
Park at the Beall’s parking lot. We will be across Helen St. at the beginning of the Linear Park.

If you have been following along, this is our last school! Presenting the student winners from Lemon Bay High School!
🌟 This May, we're ecstatic to celebrate the 24th Annual Keep Charlotte Beautiful Student Environmental Art Calendar, and we're over the moon! πŸŽ‰ The KCB Board chose the theme to honor our unbreakable spirit and commitment to rising stronger than ever after our hurricanes. In March, our judges had the challenging task of selecting 29 incredible pieces of art from 591 entries from schools across Charlotte County. Of these, 27 will radiate like beacons in the 2027 calendar, one will be featured on the International Coastal Cleanup, and one on the Great American Cleanup t-shirts! 🌊 The competition was fierce, but our winners truly shone like stars! 🌟
First up we have Juliette Hilbert, 1st Place winner for the 9th Grade with under the gulf cleanup scene! Next, we have Lucia Belger who placed 2nd for the 12th Grade with our always beloved turtles! Congratulations to both of you!
And last but not least, we have Shane Silverberg, first year art student whose art depicts a lineman's silhouette with a beautiful Florida evening sky. Shane's art definitely captured the theme of ! For this piece he won 1st Place for the 12th Grade. Shane will receive a $500 scholarship for being the senior 1st Place winner! He will be using the funding to help with things needed to go to the FP&L Lineman training. As an added bonus, JD Herd from WM who sits on the KCB Board, took Shane to Red Wing to make sure he had the right boots for the job. Thank you, WM and congratulations Shane!

May we introduce Ava Evans, 11th Grade student from Port Charlotte High School, whose artwork won to be on over 800 shirts for the Great American Cleanup! The judges felt her art represented the goal of the GAC of making our community clean, green, and beautiful! These will be given to volunteers for spring cleanups and garden projects!

Abigail Lin placed 2nd for the 2027 calendar with this beautiful beach scene! Great job Abigail! If you have been following along with the calendar winners, you may have noticed that we had 3 winners with the same last name and they are indeed some very talented sisters. This has only happened once before.
A little inside information is that our judges do not see the names or schools of the entries till the judging is done. This gives them the opportunity to focus just on the artwork before them.
