Great job by everyone from organizers to volunteers! Construction debris was the top find. Most of the other top 10 items are made of plastic that never completely breakdown.

Help protect our waterways and wildlife by carefully disposing of your trash so it does not become waterway debris! 🌎💙♻️

Last week we lost a good man, Todd Peres. He was a friend and a one of our board members.

Todd served on our board for about 12 years and 8 of those he was our treasurer. He was a tremendous asset to KCB. He was very positive about our mission and efforts but he was also an asset to our community. There were MANY organizations that he assisted over the years!

His family was very important to him. One time I asked him to send me a picture of something he liked to do, he sent me a photo of him his wife, Stacy. He explained that was his favorite thing to do, spend time with his wife! ❤️

Tomorrow is our 18th Annual Think Green Golf Tournament and it will be in memory of Todd Peres. The day will be dedicated to his always positive attitude and his contribution to our community.

His wife, two daughters, and grand childeren are in our thoughts as they come to terms with his passing.

Todd will be missed very much by all of us.

Rest in Peace Todd.

The International Coastal Cleanups are not the only things happening here!

It is also Ambush Awards time!

May we introduce Alex. Since the day we met her, the Harbour Heights Pollinator Garden has been her main focus. This garden has gone from being neglected to beautiful and full of life. Alex has not only worked with us to get the job done, she comes out and leads volunteers with her husband Dustin to work with and educate volunteers. This is why the 25.26 Keep Charlotte Beautiful Ambush Award goes to Alex Meador. Great job Alex and congratulations!🌱💚🌎

Is that...a dock? Why yes it is!
There are many groups out doing the Ocean Conservancy International Coastal Cleanup and one of those is Jim Finch's Geocaching group. 17 folks - 5 by land and 12 by water, went out and scoured the area around Harbour Heights Park. They did not find a lot of trash but they can say they brought in the biggest item - a dock. Estimated weight 275 lbs. Great job getting that out of the water! Thanks to Jim and friends for getting out there and making a difference! Kudos to Charlotte County Parks and Recreation for always giving us a hand and taking the debris, no matter what it is, away! 💪🌎🌿
