Failure to reach goals is a big problem.

Failing clean water standards would have consequences that spread beyond the Everglades.

The bacteria thrives in warm waters, and cases are occurring earlier in the season than in previous years

Not good news!!

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)—Lake Okeechobee is South Florida's water hub, feeding the Everglades, but experts say the heavily managed reservoir still moves polluted water through the region despite decades of restoration efforts.

Water is life.

Water is life.

Coal-fired power plants are one of the largest sources of toxic water pollution in America’s rivers, lakes, and streams. And now EPA wants to weaken wastewater treatment requirements that help keep arsenic, mercury, lead, and other toxic pollutants out of our water.

Even tiny amounts of these pollutants can harm public health, contaminate drinking water, damage ecosystems, and threaten aquatic life.

This rollback would mean more harmful pollution making its way into communities already disproportionately affected by toxic coal plant pollution.

Tell EPA:
💧 Do not weaken wastewater treatment requirements for coal-fired power plants
💧 Stop giveaways to polluters
💧 Protect our drinking water, water quality, and communities

🌊 Endangered Species Day: Smalltooth Sawfish
Our logo represents one of Southwest Florida’s most iconic—and critically endangered—species: the smalltooth sawfish.
Once widespread, this species now relies on our local waters—the Caloosahatchee River—as key habitat and nursery grounds.

⚠️ Sawfish are fully protected. If you see one, report it to FWC.
Protecting sawfish means protecting our waters.

Have you ever spotted a sawfish in Southwest Florida? 👀
Drop your sightings below or tell us where you’ve seen one!
