A member of Lions Club International, the Port Barre Lions Club is a non-profit service organization that works to improve the lives of others.

🔥 CALLING ALL CRACKLIN COOKERS! 🔥

Think your cracklins can compete with the best? It’s time to BRING THE HEAT to Port Barre! We’re inviting amateur and professional cookers from near and far to fire up those pots and battle it out at the 2026 Cracklin Festival Cook-Off! 🐷🏆

📅 Sunday, November 15, 2026
💰 $60 Entry Fee per Team
🐷 Pork Division
🐔 Chicken Division - must compete in Pork to enter Chicken
⏰ Teams must be on the festival grounds by 9:00 AM
🏆 Awards Ceremony at 3:00 PM

This competition is no joke! Cracklins are collected anonymously and judged on things like crispness, seasoning, meat content and overall quality. And we’re not just looking for great cooks - we’ll also be awarding Best Dressed, Best Booth Decorations and Sportsmanship!

And YES - teams will be allowed to sell their cracklins! 🙌

Do you make a spaghetti that everyone raves about? Or are you just looking for a fun day of friendly competition while supporting a great cause? We'd love to have you join us!

The Opelousas Lions Club Spaghetti Cook-Off is looking for cooking teams to compete on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena.

Whether you're a seasoned competition cook or just want to gather your friends, family, or coworkers for a great time, we encourage you to sign up! It's a fun-filled day of great food, live music, vendors, kids' activities, and community fellowship—all while helping the Opelousas Lions Club continue serving our community.

📍 PLEASE NOTE OUR VENUE CHANGE:
Due to renovations at the Catholic Church, BOTH pageants will be held at the Port Barre High School Gymnasium.

💄 Hair & Makeup will still be held at the Lions Club as usual.

📝 Pageant forms and additional information will be ready and released within the week! Keep an eye on our page so you don’t miss them!

Because of the generosity of our community, local businesses, and everyone who donated, we were able to collect school supplies that will help students in our area start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

This project is a great reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a common purpose. Every backpack, notebook, pack of pencils, and box of crayons represents someone who chose to make a difference in a child’s life.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared our posts, and helped spread the word. Your kindness and support will have a lasting impact on local families as they prepare for the new school year.

Thank you for helping us continue our mission of serving our community. Together, we truly are making a difference.
