📣 COMMUNITY YOUTH EVENT!

Legacy CDC is happy to help spread the word about an upcoming event for teens and families in our community!

Jireh World Church & Outreach Ministries is hosting FRIEND FEUD: Teen Challenge Games on Thursday, October 22 at 6:00 PM! 🎉🏆

🎮 Teens ages 13 through high school are invited to form teams of 5 and put their knowledge, teamwork, and quick thinking to the test through fun games and friendly competition—with CASH PRIZES for the winning team! 💵

No complete team yet? Don't let that stop you from registering! Teens can register individually as a Team Member, and organizers will try to connect participants who need additional teammates.

📅 Team Registration Deadline: Friday, October 16
And you don't have to compete to join the fun! 🙌 Parents, kids, family members, church members, friends, and community supporters are welcome to register as Audience Members and come cheer on the teens.

🇺🇸 TODAY IS THE DAY! Veterans Housing Assistance Program Launch 🇺🇸

Legacy Community Development Corporation is excited to officially launch our new Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Veterans Housing Assistance Program!

Through this program, Legacy CDC will provide rent, mortgage, and/or utility assistance, along with case management, to eligible Veterans and qualifying family members residing in Jefferson, Orange, or Hardin County. 💚🏠

⚠️ PLEASE REVIEW ELIGIBILITY BEFORE APPLYING

This is a Veteran-specific assistance program. Applicants must fall within one of the eligible TVC beneficiary categories:

🇺🇸 Veteran – Must meet the Veteran eligibility requirements applicable to the TVC-funded program.

💍 Dependent Spouse of a Veteran – The husband or wife of a Veteran who resides with the Veteran.

👨‍👩‍👧 Dependent Child of a Veteran – A biological, step, or adopted child who is under age 18 and resides with the Veteran; or under age 23 if a full-time student. Certain children who are incapable of self-support due to a qualifying disability may also meet TVC's definition.

🕊️ Surviving Spouse of a Veteran – The spouse of the Veteran at the time of the Veteran's death who meets TVC's requirements for surviving-spouse status, including applicable marriage/cohabitation and remarriage requirements.

If you do not fall within one of the eligible beneficiary categories above, please do not submit an application for this program. Eligibility and supporting documentation will be verified before assistance can be provided. TVC requires grantees to establish beneficiary eligibility before providing grant-funded services.

🇺🇸 Something new is coming for our Veterans! 🇺🇸

Legacy Community Development Corporation is excited to officially kick off our new Veterans Housing Assistance Program at the upcoming City of Port Arthur City Council Meeting!

This new program will provide financial housing assistance to eligible Veterans and their families, including assistance with rent, mortgage payments, and/or utilities. 🏠💚

📢 More information about the program, eligibility requirements, and how to apply will be provided during the kickoff.

We invite our clients, former clients, Veterans, community partners, and supporters to come out and join us as we introduce this new resource to the Port Arthur community!
