To All friends,
Important action needed by tomorrow to help people like my Danny and your loved one!
Take Action by TOMORROW NIGHT to stop cuts to Medicaid!
We need your help to raise the alarm. The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on the Budget Resolution tomorrow, Tuesday February 25th in the early evening. They are expected to make a devastating cut of $880 Billion over 10 years from essential federal Medicaid services.
We need calls/emails into the offices today AND tomorrow to say NO CUTS TO MEDICAID.
Medicaid Services are a lifeline for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Almost ALL IDD community-based services are provided via Medicaid, including; supports for daily living, employment supports, and respite.
You can send a message using our e-mail tool below or by making a call to the Hands Off Medicaid Hotline. Tell them “Don’t Cut our Lifeline!”
If you have you already contacted Congress, thank you - we are asking you to do it again because our goal is to flood the system with calls and e-mails.

Millions of people with disabilities rely on Medicaid for health care and for the support they need to live in their communities. If Medicaid cuts happen, access to these vital services could be lost.Tell Congress that people with disabilities need Medicaid to thrive, and real lives will be affected if there are cuts.
Send a message now or make a call by Tuesday evening and tell them why Medicaid must be protected. It takes just a few minutes, but it can make a huge difference.

"Good [morning/afternoon]. My name is [Your Full Name], and I’m a constituent from [City/Town, State] in [your zip code]. I’m reaching out today because I’m deeply concerned about proposed cuts to Medicaid, particularly the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) that support people [like me] who live with disabilities.
I live with [briefly describe your disability/condition] and rely on Medicaid to access critical services that allow me to live independently in my community. For me, and for so many others, HCBS are not just a convenience—they are fundamental to our ability to live with dignity and be part of society. Without these services, I would risk being forced into an institution, away from my family, my job, and the life I’ve worked hard to build. I would like a response from Representative [Name of Representative]. Thank you.”

Medicaid is more than healthcare, it funds all Home & Community Based Services for people with I/DD. The Arc of Washington State hosted a virtual town hall to discuss more about why it matters, potential service threats, and how you can be involved.
