The Port Allegany Women’s Club is working to help meet needs in the Port Allegany School District community during the upcoming holiday season using a program called the Giving Tree. Request forms were distributed through the schools and gift tags have been prepared for the gifts that are needed. Banners will be placed in local businesses and churches between November 4th – 29th. To give a gift (or two), fill out the top of the perforated tag and drop it in the provided box. The other piece of the tag describes the child’s needs/wishes and can be taken for shopping. Unwrapped gifts can be placed into a bag along with the ornament tag. Bags should be dropped off at the Gethsemane Lutheran Education Hall located on Arnold Avenue Monday-Wednesday, December 2nd through 4th from 10 a.m. – noon or 6 – 8 p.m. Gift bags will be assembled and ready to be picked up on December 14 from 10 a.m. – noon at the Education Hall.
