At our January meeting, Poquoson Woman’s Club was happy to present the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Scholarship (HOBY) to Bella Struck.
Bella is a sophomore at Poquoson High School and shared with the club what leadership means to her. We are excited to see what her future holds as she is already a leader at PHS.
Bella will attend the HOBY conference in the spring, where student ambassadors participate in facilitated dialogue and abilities-based workshops to develop awareness of their leadership strengths and an understanding of their leadership values.
Through these dynamic activities with their peers, students hone their skills and learn to recognize, amplify, and collaborate with the diverse strengths of others. One weekend at a HOBY seminar unlocks a student’s leadership potential and helps them gain the confidence to make a positive impact on the world around them.
In addition to celebrating Bella, we had an informative presentation from Dr Dawson of TPMG covering Interventional Pain Treatment for back pain, neck pain, & sciatica. We appreciate Dr Dawson sharing his time with us.
Last but not least, club members donated items for our local PAWs (Poquoson Animal Welfare Society) organization. If you are interested in supporting them, they would appreciate any support you are able to provide.
