We’ve been asked to come back next year.

Six stops this summer. Five nations and Washington, D.C. Camps, leadership retreats, and a room where decisions get made about Native youth, with Native youth standing in it.

Every invitation for next year is a YES, but we have to secure funding before we can say it out loud.

Here’s what nobody tells you about your personal leadership...

Using your voice doesn’t mean being the loudest one in the room. It doesn’t mean being highly confident or having something impressive to say.

It means saying your name the way it’s supposed to sound. Asking the question everybody’s already thinking. Sitting with an elder long enough to hear the whole answer. Standing in rooms where you are the only Native youth.

Jim Thorpe carried two names. The world used one. Wa-Tho-Huk, Bright Path, was the one that defined him.

Native youth Scholar, Colin Dayson, also carries two names.

Manitou Muckwa. Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. Prairie Band Potawatomi on his mother’s side. Junior at Royal Valley High School.

Varsity as a sophomore. An officer every year since his freshman year. FBLA president. KAY secretary. A 3.0 the whole way through. Thirty-plus hours of service, two of them on a Salvation Army bell in the middle of winter, because somebody had to do it.

In 1912, they took Thorpe’s medals. It took another 110 years to put his name back the way it belonged.

We’re not waiting that long on Colin.

It took 110 years to make the record right.

Most Native kids are never taught this. Shades of Thorpe honors his name and legacy for a reason.

📌Five nations. Six invitations. That's where we ended up in the summer of 26’.

We were asked to come to Oklahoma, to Crow Nation, to the Fort Peck Tribes, to Bozeman, MT, and to Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Of course we said yes to all of it.

We are already being asked about 2027. More nations. More youth. More energy. The momentum is real and so is the need to fund what is coming next.

For the next four weeks, we are making an ask. Not for survival but for growth. Every contribution says yes to a Native youth whose Bright Path is waiting.

Six stops. 100+ Native youth. 5+ tribal nations and partnered organizations. One organization that keeps getting asked to come back.

Thank you to every tribal nation and organization that invited us and to every family that trusted us with their children.

Hopa Mountain College Prep Retreat: July 12–15, 2026 MSU-Bozeman.

What an absolute honor it was for Hopa Mountain to invite us to host our leadership presentation and assist in chaperoning their scholars for the week.

That's the model. Invite us in and we will take care of the call. Your students and your community are why we do this work.

This is what a progression program looks like in practice.

Students at Poplar Middle School on the Fort Peck Reservation worked toward a trip. Eight of them earned it. June 23–26, they were in Rapid City, South Dakota. Four days of life skills and cultural experience.

The progression is the program. The trip is what makes it real.
