I want you to check on your people, but also take a few minutes and do an internal self-check. Many times, we get so wrapped up in the world around us and helping others....we forget about ourselves. If you don't take care of yourself, eventually you will become what we called "combat ineffective" on active duty. Meaning, you no longer have the ability to help others because you are in such a bad state yourself.

🇺🇸 22 A DAY IS 22 TOO MANY. 🇺🇸
Behind every number is a Veteran.
A mother. A father. A brother. A sister. A battle buddy. A friend.

For years, “22 a day” has been used to bring awareness to Veteran su***de. While the exact number changes as new data is reported, one truth remains:

We are losing far too many Veterans to su***de.
If you are struggling, please reach out. You do not have to carry everything by yourself. Asking for help does not make you weak—it takes courage to say, “I need someone.”

And to everyone else: check on your Veterans.
Send the text. Make the phone call. Stop by. Sit and listen. Ask twice when they say, “I’m fine.”
Sometimes the person who spends all their time helping everyone else is the one who needs someone to notice them.
