This afternoon is the peak of Yule in the northern hemisphere! Below is information relating to multiple cultures, showing where some of our modern traditions for both Yule and Christmas originated.

Body text: "Date: around December 21st (northern hemisphere, June 21st in southern hemisphere). The Romans celebrated Saturnalia in a week-long festival with gift-giving, feasting, and sacrifices. Customs such as the Yule log, decorating a tree, and more can be linked to the Norse festival Jul. In ancient Egypt, the return of the sun god Ra was celebrated as a way of thanking him for warming the land and the crops.
