SOMEBODY ASKED ME WHAT I DO FOR A LIVING.
I TOLD THEM I MIND MY OWN FU***NG BUSINESS.
AND WE'RE HIRING.
Read that again.
The older I get, the more I realize that one of the rarest skills in today's world is the ability to stay focused on your own life. Everybody seems to have an opinion about somebody else's relationship, somebody else's mistakes, somebody else's choices, somebody else's finances, or somebody else's journey. Meanwhile, their own life is sitting in the corner begging for attention.
If we're being honest, a lot of people know more about what everyone else is doing than what they're doing. They know the latest gossip. They know who's dating who. They know who's winning, who's losing, who's failing, and who's succeeding. But ask them about their goals, their purpose, their healing, or the things they're actively doing to improve their own life, and suddenly the conversation gets real quiet.
I've learned that peace comes from staying in your lane.
Not because you don't care about people. Not because you're better than anybody else. But because your energy is limited, and life is too short to spend it monitoring lives you weren't assigned to live.
I've got enough things to work on. I've got character flaws to fix. I've got goals I'm chasing. I've got prayers I'm still waiting to see answered. I've got children watching my example. I've got healing to continue. I've got growth that still needs to happen.
The truth is, self-improvement is a full-time job by itself.
That's why I don't have much interest in sitting around discussing what everybody else should be doing with their life. I'm too busy trying to become the person(woman )God called me to be.
And maybe that's the lesson.
The people making the biggest impact in life are usually too busy building something to spend their days tearing someone else down. They're too focused on growth to obsess over gossip. Too focused on purpose to be distracted by drama.
So if you're looking for a better life, start there.
Mind your business.
Heal your wounds.
Chase your goals.
Protect your peace.
Focus on your growth.
Because at the end of the day, you'll never build the life you're supposed to live while spending all your time watching somebody else's.
