It is with great sadness that the Community Angels members have voted to dissolve our nonprofit organization. We have had great success since 2004 in making a difference in the community and helping so many families! We have worked hard to keep our vision alive in the community and stay true to our mission. Our members drive, enthusiasm, and tireless work ethics have been incomparable. We feel it is best that we dissolve this organization so that we, the members, can best carry out the ministry and other work that God has chosen for us; as we maintain the integrity of this great organization.
Since 2004, we have been blessed to give out $13,000 in scholarships in the PONTOTOC COMMUNITY, hosted the *FIRST COMMUNITY WIDE PICNIC & PARADE (along with the BROTHERHOOD) on CLARK STREET in May 2006, *FIRST BLACK HERITAGE MONTH PARADE on CLARK STREET in February 2009, organized the * FIRST MOTORCADE MEMORIAL DEDICATION honoring the life and legacy of the late Ms. Ruby Elzy February 2010 (from Clark Street to her gravesite)
*FIRST MLK COMMEMORATION PARADE January 2012-2019 (assisted by the MLK DREAM COMMITTEE & the CONCERNED CITIZEN COALITION for a weekend celebration), hosted community wide BREAKFAST WITH SANTA for our youth as an annual fundraiser (2004-2010), hosted and began the COMMUNITY BLACK HERITAGE CELEBRATIONS FEB 2005-2018 as an annual scholarship fundraiser, and assisted many families during Christmas, house fires, and other disasters.
We would like to THANK the community, other historic community organizations, board members from across the state, and everyone who has assisted us throughout the years!! May the legacy of the Community Angels be the awareness brought to our community and the many we have assisted.
It has been a pleasure to serve the Pontotoc Community! We plan to team up with many of the other great organizations in the community as we each separately move forward! We are confident that we will still see many great things to come! Our HEARTFELT THANKS to all of YOU, PONTOTOC, and surrounding areas, who supported us all of these years!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to so many that paved the way for us! We are forever grateful!! Today, we are passing the torch!
