September is NICU Awareness month! In honor of Tripp and all the NICU babies out there, we are taking donations for our upcoming contribution to the hospital where he was born! Every year we collect quarters and put them in medicine bottles and give them to the parents at the hospital. We do this because for most parents the days are super long and hard while your child is in the NICU. Often times, by the time they are ready to leave the hospital for the day, the cafeteria is closed and there aren’t any places open to eat so they are stuck with the snack machine options and most of these only take quarters. So we try to ease a little of that burden with our little contribution!

If you’d like to donate please message us! We take medicine bottles and cash/quarters all month! 💚💚💚

World Premmaturiry Day 11/17/23 (I’m a day late as per usual)
A day we will always try to recognize for our sweet little premature miracle, Tripp! After he was diagnosed as severely growth restricted, he came into the world at a little over 3 pounds and in the negative 10th percentile for his gestation. He was smallest baby I had ever seen with my own eyes or held. Preemie clothes didn’t even fit him. Can’t believe how far he’s come!

Now he will be 2 in February of next year and we feel like he’s constantly getting too tall for his clothes and always growing out of them! He’s in the 100th percentile for height and about the 60th for weight. We are so blessed! We will never take him for granted or what it took to get him here and could never thank our staff in Memphis enough for all they did! I wouldn’t wish that journey on anyone but I’m thankful we are where we are today! ❤️

We are proud to support ! Join us in celebrating all NICU miracles!

This month we are taking donations for our Quarters for a Cause drive to donate to NICU parents who have children currently in the hospital! This is a small but important way you can contribute to a family who’s only concern should be getting their child strong and healthy enough to bring home! There were many nights during our time at the NICU with Tripp that the only thing available to eat was what we could buy out of a vending machine, so that is why we do this! We fill recycled medicine bottles with quarters and each one holds around $10! It’s not a lot but it is something we know comes in handy for parents who are in the same boat we were!

If you’d like to donate you can Venmo us!

Or you can drop off donating at Petals & Lace Formal Fashion! ❤️

March 13th was Intrauterine Growth Restriction Aweareness Day! It is observed every year for babies who, for whatever reason, experienced delayed growth in the womb. Definition: Intrauterine growth restriction, or IUGR, is a condition when a baby in the womb (a fetus) does not grow as expected. The baby is not as big as would be expected for the stage of the mother's pregnancy. This timing is known as an unborn baby's "gestational age."

For Tripp this happened around 30 weeks and it was due to mama’s high blood pressure (and a few other issues). He stopped growing at around 3 pounds. Mama’s blood pressure was so high that her body cut off adequate supply for him so Tripp got just enough to survive but not enough to thrive. He was a tiny little nugget for sure and came into the world at 3 pounds and 6 ounces just shy of 34 weeks but measured in the negative 10th percentile! Today (at 13 months) we are in the 86th percentile for height and around thr 40th for weight! He sure has come a LONG way and we are SO grateful!

Join us in celebrating all the TINY BUT MIGHTY miracles! 💙💙💙
