Better Together Animal Alliance (formerly Panhandle Animal Shelter) is dedicated to serving the animals of North Idaho. Look at that face. That goofy little grin. That innocent expression.

And yet, Henry has ... opinions.

This almost two-year-old little guy is absolutely wonderful with people but when it comes to other animals, he’d like to formally submit a "THANKS BUT NO THANKS."

Henry would like to be your one and only. No other dogs. No animal roommates. Just him, his people, and plenty of attention.

He may be little, but this boy has a BIG personality. And judging by that grin, he knows exactly how charming he is.

Come meet Henry. We have a feeling he’ll have you saying, “Fine. You win.” 😉

Heads up, BTAA friends & fans! The Animal Care Center will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7 for the Labor Day holiday. We will reopen, with normal business hours, on Tuesday, September 8.

If you are looking to shop, good news - the BTAA Thrift Store will be open on Labor Day but our Sorting Center will not be accepting donations. Thank you!

🔎 It was Colonel Mustard… the tiny kitten… in the nursery!

Meet Mustard, a three-day-old kitten who has somehow found himself in the middle of a very real Clue mystery: How is this tiny guy going to grow up big and strong without a mom?

Mustard needs bottle feeding, warmth, care and most importantly, a foster willing to take on the job.

🚨This is an urgent plea, folks. A kitten this young doesn’t have time to wait. 🚨

Thank you to PEDIGREE Foundation and Humane World for Animals for granting Better Together Animal Alliance $20,000 to support access to care in our community!

This funding improves the lives of people and animals by helping to bolster programs like our helpline, Temporary Loving Care boarding program, and pet food bank. These grant dollars go far in our region, and will benefit pets and their families in North Idaho.

As Spike can tell you, it’s been one heck of a summer. From wildfires and smoky skies to some seriously hot temps, this summer definitely had its moments!

But as our senior fellow would like to remind us: sometimes it’s the little things that make a summer memorable. A quiet walk in the woods. A good snuggle with a friend. An all-important pup cup every now and then. And maybe, just maybe, finding a new companion to head into autumn with.

So as summer winds down, why not make one of those little moments a BIG one?
