It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved treasurer, Lisa.
Yesterday, August 31, we lost a truly remarkable woman. While her family is grieving the unimaginable loss of a mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, we at Autism Adventures are grieving the loss of someone who was so much more than our treasurer. Lisa was a dedicated member of our organization, a trusted leader, and, most importantly, someone who cared deeply and loved wholeheartedly.
Lisa gave her time, her talents, and her heart to this organization because she believed in what we do and, above all, believed in the children we serve. She cared deeply about making a difference in their lives and was passionate about ensuring that every child had the opportunity to feel supported, valued, and loved.
As our treasurer, Lisa faithfully helped guide and steward this organization behind the scenes. She brought wisdom, dedication, compassion, and an incredible sense of responsibility to her role. But what we will remember most is the heart behind everything she did. Lisa didn’t simply serve this organization—she believed in it. She believed in our mission, in our community, and in the difference that a group of caring people can make in the lives of children and families.
We were incredibly fortunate to have Lisa as part of our Autism Adventures family. Her absence will be deeply felt—in our meetings, in the work we do, and in the countless moments when we will wish we could hear her voice, see her smile, or share one more conversation with her.
Lisa’s legacy will live on through the people she loved, the lives she touched, and the children and families she cared so deeply about.
Please join us in keeping Lisa’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
We also invite our community to share your favorite memories, photos, and stories of Lisa in the comments. We would be honored to hear how she touched your life.
In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family has asked that donations be made to causes that were very close to her heart, including Lovepacs Aubrey, Autism Adventures, or a local food bank.
Lisa, thank you for giving so much of yourself to others. Thank you for believing in our mission and, most of all, for believing in the children. We are better because you were here, and we will carry your heart for this work with us always.
Rest peacefully, Lisa. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️
