Some notes about tomorrow:
- We are having this parade and event in the park come rain or shine! If you are a driver or rider and don’t know what to do, just meet at the Lion’s Club at 8:30 AM, and we will help you.
-Let’s remember the real reason behind what we are doing. This is not a way to simply get more parade throws. It’s a way for us to show gratitude and appreciation for ALL veterans past and present.
- Take time to thank any veteran you see. This truly means a lot to them. Especially for people like our Vietnam veterans who didn’t receive the welcome home they truly deserved.
- If you see one of our volunteer committee members in a gray shirt, please take the time to thank them as well. Please let them know what you liked and didn’t like so we can continue improving this event year after year.
As a veteran myself, I just wanted to thank the community of Tangipahoa parish, donors, sponsors and all of the Tangipahoa Parish leaders for the support they have given to the committee. Whenever we ask for anything, they always find a way to make it happen. Seeing the community come out to show appreciation for veterans reminds me of why I love living in this small town. 🇺🇸
