At our meeting this week we heard from Chuck George, the president of the Dawn Busters Kiwanis club of Metairie. He has also a professional race organizer for 40 years. He was there to tell us about the Manchac Run. The run is being returned after several years of absence and is being sponsored by North Oaks and Middendorfs.

We will be joining the Dawn Busters Kiwanis club to help volunteer for this run. Our club will be managing the first water station. Also visiting the club was immediate past LaMissTenn Kiwanis Governor Marcel Lashover.

It’s not too late to register for anyone interested.

Recently, our club welcomed Regan Nelson from Off the Hook. She talked about this family owned company that is looking to expand its seafood restaurant into Mississippi soon. She talked about how they want to promote local dishes using only Louisiana sourced seafood in the food they serve. She knows a little bit about a family owned and run business having grown up in the Elmer’s Candy business with her father. We thoroughly enjoyed the information she shared and her reflections. We also enjoyed the food that they provide provided. Thank you Regan and “Off the Hook”.
