We enjoyed hosting Trevor Bergeron as our Rotary guest speaker this week. Trevor, along with his wife, Cara, started the “Ace of Hearts Foundation” after their son, Asher “Ace” Bergeron was diagnosed with Sanfillipo Syndrome.
Trevor shared the mission of the organization and shared stories of the families who have been helped through fundraisers and monetary gifts. Our community is excited about the groundbreaking for a new adaptive inclusive playground being built at PARD, and we saw pictures of children who have received adaptive bicycles!

Matthew Barratini, former Ponchatoula High School Interact President and 2018 Student of the Year, was our speaker this week. Matt is now a local entrepreneur, real estate agent, and board member for the Twin Steeples Creative Arts Center. He brings enthusiasm, vision, marketing strategies and “service above self” to our community! He is the owner-operator of Escape Warehouse in Ponchatoula, which was recently awarded the distinction of being ranked 4th in the nation for escape-room experiences! 🎉🎉
Matt shared, “I didn't build The Escape Warehouse because I thought people would travel across the country to visit Ponchatoula. I built it because I believed our community deserved something unique. The most rewarding part has been watching visitors discover what we've known all along: this area has something special.”

RYLA 2026! Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a week-long camp sponsored by our District Rotary 6840. Participants take part in a variety of activities to build communication skills, develop problem-solving strategies and cultivate teamwork!
Ponchatoula Rotary was proud to prepare and serve the opening day dinner for the participants, mentors and leaders!

We were honored to have Chuck Muntz as our guest speaker at our meeting this past week. Chuck, a benefit auctioneer specialist, serves as the president of New Orleans Rotary Club. He presented information on the District 6840 Rotary Initiative “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” which will be held at Point Cadet in Biloxi, MS.
On September 19, Rotary will build 150 beds for needy families.

Dr. Sean Hendricks with North Oaks Hospital was our guest speaker on June 18. Dr. Hendricks is an eye care specialist with 20 years experience with the most advanced systems in Louisiana.

We were happy to host Parish Councilwoman and local educator Strader Cieutat as our guest speaker today! Strader brought information on this year’s Veteran’s Celebration and parade, which will be held in downtown Ponchatoula on Saturday, October 31. ❤️🤍💙

Ponchatoula Rotary Club enjoyed preparing our famous jambalaya with all the fixins’ to the student mission teams from First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, Texas, 🤠! The group is in Ponchatoula this week serving senior citizens in our community by building ramps, doing yard work, and making home repairs and improvements.

Big thanks to Pam Armstrong and Benton Thames for donating fun items for our Rotary gift cups, and thanks to the ladies of FBC Ponchatoula who boxed each meal for the volunteers. Everything was welcomed and appreciated!
