911!!! STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ. This is NOT a forward or spam or chain!! My name is Athena Carroll and I am a Holmes and Walton County resident. I am also a local Realtor and mother coming to you with an extremely urgent message. There are a Realtor and seller trying to market a piece of land in our area to sell as a data center. The Realtors marketing states that the data center has already been approved. NOT TRUE. Property address is 1520 N Hwy 181, Westville, Fl. The Realtor marketing this property is David Masi and his phone number is 727-215-5085. There is a meeting to discuss a POSSIBLE data center in this location tomorrow in Bonifay at 6pm. PLEASE BE THERE. BE HEARD. This is NOT just for my Holmes County friends and family. This property sits on the Walton/ Holmes line. These data centers DESTROY PROPERTY VALUES AND POWER INFRASTRUCTURE AND DEPLETE WATER RESOURCES everywhere they turn up!!! The radiation and heat increase alone is enough to make sure you don't want to be closer than 50-100 miles to one of these things! I will be in front of the courthouse tomorrow at 5PM with a petition to sign. If you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT MAKE IT and want to sign the petition, please message me with your email address and I will get it sent for signature via Dotloop. In theMEAN TIME, please pass this message to everyone ypu know!!! These dara centers are sneaking into what they call "small" towns where they think they will not meet resistance or the voices are not loud enough. NOT HERE, NOT US. CONTACT YOUR COMMISSIONER ASAP:

SEE BELOW INFORMATION ON THE EFFECTS OF DATA CENTERS ON A COMMUNITY:

Data centers pose severe negative impacts on local environments and public health, primarily through massive resource depletion. A single facility can consume up to 5 million gallons of water daily for cooling and require as much electricity as 100,000 households, driving up utility bills, straining local power grids, and worsening air pollution. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
1. Extreme Water Consumption
• Depletion of Local Supplies: Massive cooling needs evaporate billions of gallons of freshwater, straining water tables, particularly in drought-prone regions (e.g., the Southwest and rural Midwest).Water Scarcity: Large-scale extraction can deplete municipal and agricultural groundwater, threatening local communities. [1, 2, 3, 4]
2. Energy Grid Strain and Cost
• Rising Utility Bills: Power demands are overloading electric grids. To meet this load, utility companies often invest in costly infrastructure upgrades that are passed on to residential households through higher energy rates. [1, 2]Fossil Fuel Reliance: To guarantee continuous, 24/7 power, many grids are forced to rely on—or build new—natural gas and coal plants rather than transitioning to sustainable energy. [1, 2, 3]
3. Public Health and Air Pollution
• Diesel Generators: Backup diesel generators emit high levels of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter, leading to increased rates of asthma and cardiovascular disease, disproportionately affecting vulnerable or rural communities. [1, 2, 3]Continuous Emissions: Some newly proposed AI data centers are housing on-site gas turbines that generate continuous air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in already overburdened airsheds. [1, 2]
4. Noise and Land Use Disruptions
• Noise Pollution: Heavy equipment during construction and continuous humming from rooftop cooling systems and backup generators can reach 85 to 100 decibels, causing sleep disruption and hearing hazards for neighbors. [1, 2]Land Consumption: Massive hyperscale footprints pave over hundreds of acres of natural habitats or productive farmland, disrupting local ecosystems. [1, 2]
Explore how these issues are being addressed through protective zoning ordinances by reviewing reports from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance or the NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice program.
