Our Veterans Day ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM on November 11th at the Davies Lighthouse park. We expect to have a fitting tribute to all veterans and the service they gave to this country. Unfortunately we will be unable to dedicate the expansion of the Memorial - the Walls of Remembrance. Here is the current state of the walls and it will, when completed, be a very special place to honor our veterans. You will see in the picture that when you stand at the end of the existing Monument, you see your reflection in the walls. Pretty special!

Hope to see you on the 11th!

This past Friday we had the post-groundbreaking groundbreaking for our Memorial expansion to create two Walls of Remembrance. This effort is a testament to the solemn commitment the Ponce Inlet Veterans Memorial Association has to provide a special place to honor our veterans. Here is a link to that small ceremony.

Please go to our web site to see more and to order either a plaque or paver to recognize a veteran or make a donation to the construction of the walls.

We replaced the first set of faded pavers to ensure they are able to be read clearly. When the next batch arrives, we will also do a sand brushing to fill in all the cracks between the pavers. Our plan is that all faded pavers will be replaced by the dedication of our expansion with the two ‘Walls of Remembrance’. Check out some information on the expansion.

Here are some of the new pavers and some views of the current state of the expansion. When completed, we will be able to honor another 1,500 veterans with pavers or plaques.

We had a special Memorial Day ceremony to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the freedoms we enjoy. We had wonderful support from some local politicians and dignitaries and were grateful to all who attended to brave the heat.

Shortly after the ceremony I talked to someone that wanted our Association to establish a challenge. They are going to provide a $10,000 donation towards the construction of the black granite covered ‘Walls of Remembrance’ and are challenging residents and businesses to match their donation towards the construction of the walls. They expressed that our Memorial is a very special place and believe this expansion is a wonderful way to increase the acknowledgment of veterans’ service.

We will acknowledge all those that match or exceed that donation as ‘special patrons’ of the walls in an appropriate manner at, or after, the dedication of the walls. Should anyone or business be interested in matching this donation, please make the check out and mail to:

Ponce Inlet Veterans Memorial Association
4670 S Peninsula Dr.
Ponce Inlet, FL 32127
Attn: Walls of Remembrance

Please include your address, telephone number and email address. We will provide a confirmation after receipt and will provide updates as to the status of the walls’ construction.

Currently, anyone donating $500 or more will have their names etched on a stainless-steel plaque and placed on one of the walls. Those donations be made on our web site.
