The Oklahoma Pride Series

The Oklahoma Pride Series Ponca Playhouse presents an Oklahoma themed production during each summer outside of their regular season.

Ponca Playhouse announces that "The Broken Statue," a play by Bob Perry based on the real-life story of oil-baron E.W. Marland, who made and lost a fortune in the oilfields of northern Oklahoma, and the tragic story of his adopted daughter and later wife Lydie Marland, will be presented in Ponca City, Oklahoma in an exclusive run of nine shows that will be performed on July 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 and August 3, 4, and 5, 2012.

Looking for volunteer boys for Marland documentary marble scene to be filmed as stated below. Volunteering would include acquiring a costume from the Ponca Playhouse prior to at no charge. Boys can be “girls” dressed up as boys with hair tucked under a cap too.

Ponca Playhouse number is 580-765-5360 and is open 10AM to 2Pm Tues., Wed. and Thurs.

Please respond ASAP if you know of any boys (or girls) ages 8-10 in your family or friends that would like to volunteer.

The marble scene with boys will be shot at the Mansion on Wed., Aug. 12th. Please be at the Mansion dressed and ready to begin at 6PM.

The Broken Statue performances will be Thursday July 23rd - Sunday July 26th and then again the next weekend on Thursday July 30th - Sunday August 2nd. Remember the Thursday, Friday and Saturday night shows will begin at 7:30pm. Sunday shows will still be at 2pm. Tickets will be $20 and we have sold out every show during previous seasons so please call and reserve your tickets today.
