PONCA CITY AREA LITERACY COUNCIL NEEDS YOUR HELP!
We have a waiting list of adults who want to improve their literacy skills. Tutors change people's lives. Not a teacher? That's okay! Most tutors are just like you. All you need is 1 1/2 to 2 hours, twice a week. Call Barbara or Anita at (580) 767-0351 to sign up for FREE TRAINING, January 24th, 2015.

In thanksgiving for the gift of reading, consider becoming a tutor!
Can you imagine not being able to:
Read to a child
Read maps or street signs
Read newspapers or books
Read an application

You would have a lifetime of covering up and fearing new situations. One out of every five Oklahomans lives this lifestyle because he or she cannot read.

As a tutor with the Ponca City Area Literacy Council, you can help break this cycle of fear and hiding by teaching someone to read.

A big THANK YOU to Hastings customers! Your donations to Ponca City Area Literacy Council make it possible for us to purchase necessary materials for our tutors and adult learners in the basic skills and English as Second Language programs, as well as the test preparation for driver's license and GED! Yes, that's right! Your donations dropped in the jars in Hastings checkout lines stay in the Ponca City area!
