💚 Today, on National Senior Citizens Day, we recognize the older adults who have helped shape and strengthen our communities.
As the Baby Boomer generation ages, more families are also facing the financial realities that can come with growing older. In 2024, half of households headed by someone age 65 or older were either living in poverty or considered ALICE, meaning their income was above the federal poverty level but still not enough to afford basic household necessities.
For many older adults, rising costs for housing, food, health care, transportation, and caregiving can make maintaining financial stability increasingly difficult.
At Kay County Senior Connections, we believe aging should come with dignity, security, connection, and access to the resources needed to thrive.
