Broward Children's Center is looking for volunteers for Miles for Smiles 5K on Saturday, November 7. Our volunteers are the heart of this event. They help create a welcoming and memorable experience for every participant while supporting the children and families we serve every day.

Good to know: Open to high school students and older. A service hours form will be provided for anyone who needs it.

Now in its 23rd year, this annual event has brought neighbors, families and local partners together to support the children and families Broward Children's Center serves every day. Every step taken on race day is a step toward giving them the care and support they deserve.

🧡💙Since 1971, Broward Children's Center has been providing medical, educational, therapeutic, recreational, daily living and advocacy services to infants, children, and young adults with special health care needs, in Pompano Beach, Florida💙🧡

Our mission is to provide quality programs to infants, children, and young adults who are developmentally disabled and/or medically fragile, through a continuum of services designed to meet the needs of children and their families.

Today, that mission comes to life through our school programs, therapy services, home health care, group homes, and social services that offer ongoing support to the families we serve.

Our vision is to be leaders in the field and a resource for individuals, families, and the community, respected for our commitment to the children and young adults we serve.

Every year, our community comes together for a race with a purpose far beyond the finish line. Every runner, walker and supporter who joins helps sustain the vital work of Broward Children's Center: providing care, support and hope to children and families who need it most. 👨‍🦽🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Last year, more than 100 participants stood behind this mission. This year, we're inviting even more of our community and network to join us, create a team, join one, or come on your own.

💙🧡Grandparents Day at BCC South School 🧡💙

Grandparents play a special role in so many families, sharing time, stories and traditions that help children feel connected and loved. Yesterday, BCC South School welcomed grandparents into our classrooms for a morning full of smiles, activities and quality time with our students. It was a beautiful reminder of how much it means to our children when the people who love them take part in their everyday world. 👴👵

At Broward Children's Center, our work is centered on helping infants, children, and young adults with special health care needs live with dignity, independence, and the best possible quality of life, through a full range of medical, educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs. Family involvement is an important part of that work, and we're grateful to every grandparent who joined us yesterday.
