Hermanas Unidas Cal Poly Hermanas Unidas de Cal Poly Pomona aims to promote and engage women and men in women empowerment during college and in the professional workforce.

Hermanas Unidas Inc. Brief history,

In the Fall of 1994, five young women, Zuleyka Heredia, Ricki Robles, Amelia Schustz, Erica Solorzano and Bernadette Vargas decided to establish a new Chicana/Latina support group at UC Berkeley. This organization was created in order to give Chicana/Latinas on campus an opportunity to find a home away from home, while providing academic and community resources

and a family networking system through a basis of three pillars: academics, community service and collegiate networking. Thus, ensued the beginning of Hermanas Unidas. California State Polytechnic University, Pomona was established in 2006. What is "Poder de la Mujer"? This is what every Hermana strives to embody, as an individual women and an organization. This motto symbolizes the strength and will of each and every Hermana in their quest for higher education, the empowerment of their families and communities, as well as equality in education, the workplace and the rest of society. Official Colors & Symbol

The official colors of Hermanas Unidas are Blue and Silver they are worn proudly on our gear. Our official symbol is El Quinto Blossom.
